    Fanless PoE Switch

That is one of my concerns because I don't know the specs of the original fan. My concern isn't really about the cost of the Trendnet TPE-S160 breaking down (I was thinking of replacing it anyways). The bigger issue is the downtime and having to buy a new switch in a hurry (and pay extra). I...

    Fanless PoE Switch

Be careful with the Noctua fans, most of them are significantly lower static pressure and CFM rating. This also will void any warranty you have. I bought a TP-LINK switch that has two pretty loud fans as well, and looked at the Noctua's as well but they are 50% lower CFM and static pressure...

    Fanless PoE Switch

I put two of these 'type' of Noctua fans in my Dahua NVR (pull/push) and they have been great. Zero problems with them and they are quiet.

    Fanless PoE Switch

I looked at fans before and I think those were Noctua as @tangent suggested. It's not exactly easy to find a replacement fan, though. Size is the easiest part (45mm from screw to screw) but there is voltage (probably 12V), required cfm, 2/3/4 pin connector, connector style, etc. Google isn't...

    Fanless PoE Switch

Personally I'd just replace the fan(s) with some nice noctua fans. Don't buy chinesium switches like "Sodola" or "YuLinca". Just don't.

Here is the motherboard and cooler that I use. Let me tell you, my server is dead quiet! You can't go wrong with Noctua coolers. They are very quiet.

    DeepStack's Amaizing Eye

Thank you for taking the time to share this info. This is actually what I want to build. I see the board is a Gigabyte, so did you have problems with the standoffs? Read one guy complaining you can't remove and move them. Board looks like a full ATX since it has 4 Memory slots and several PCI...

    DeepStack's Amaizing Eye

I forgot what mobo I used. Let me look at some old pics and I'll tell you exactly what I used. I do know that I use a low profile Noctua CPU cooler, with an Intel i5 (can't remember the Gen.) I also use 4 stick 8Gig GSkill Ripjaw memory, Crucial 250Gig M.2 and old EVGA Bronze 500 watt power...

So that looks like a 3U rack case, was reading Video Cards that require Power won't work since there is not enough clearance for the case cover. Which case do you have? DeepStack's Amaizing Eye

In that same vein, I finally received my new server case and started putting it together. I'm still waiting for two 60MM Noctua fans for the exhaust. One's here and the other got misplaced and will be here later today. Anyway, I tried loading DS for GPU and could not. The file shown in the pic...

    Noisy NVR

The noise comes from the power supply fan. You can replace just that one with a noctua and seriously reduce noise. The smaller side fan isn't worth noodling with imo. That's not really where the bulk of the noise comes from.

One of the first things I did after I purchased a network video recorder was replace both fans with the Noctua brand. The difference was amazing.

Network Switch Suggestions for Home Use - Cisco C3560X?

...I got the 1100 watt used on ebay. been running for over a year now with no issues. Now that NVR-5216 is a fan noise you can modulate with a Noctua fan. I have nvr 4108 and thats tolerable and it might use a similar fan part# as the 5216. The nightowl/Hik fans were annoying. I bought the...

Best NVR system for small retail store?

...and just under powered it. 10v VS 12v cuts back on most of the noise while still keeping adequate airflow. A small buck converted soldered on the cable and wrapped in heat shrink. Anyone used a USB 3.0 connected external Drive for Video storage?

...a 4 drive storage bay and a few more hard drives. Hopefully that'll last. That's about the extend of my problem with them. You can also buy a USB 3.1 expansion device to add more ports. And with the 4bay drive I'd change out the noisy fan with a Noctua fan. They're usually 80MM and very quiet.
