    R0 / DS-2CD2x32 BrickfixV2 brick recovery and full upgrade tool - enhanced.

Yes, that version of firmware has the 'Hikvision backdoor vulnerability' that allows the use of administrative commands without requiring authorisation. It depends on whether the camera is a 'grey market' Chinese one that is running hacked firmware to make it have EN menus. One way to check...

    2 POE cameras randomly offline

Or been hacked if you are using 'port forwarding' for the remote access, which lets the entire internet have access to the remote network.

Review-IP Villa Outdoor Doorbell Station & Indoor Monitor Kit

1- Chose the Dahua a35A cam in BI for model. 2-Don't port forward or leave uPNP turned on. Study this: How to Secure Your Network (Don't Get Hacked!) | IP Cam Talk 3-gDMSS worked for saved messages in my testing. I didn't do anything special.

Does the iVMS-4500 mobile app work with mixed vendors? (the answer is no!)

Thanks. They are lan only devices. Only exposed port is the blue iris one.

Does the iVMS-4500 mobile app work with mixed vendors? (the answer is no!)

No. And Apple and android have family sharing plans. More importantly if you are port forwarding the cameras themselves you will be hacked. You should be using a VPN regardless it sounds like you’re not.

You guys are the best. Thanks so much.

Alternative way of recovering HikVision NVR password

@saniaowner is correct - that's the right password. But - that suggests that the camera has been hacked, it's a common password used by the hackbots. If you are not explicitly using 'port forwarding' to let the entire internet access the camera (which is a particularly insecure and unsafe thing...

    Random router connections

Thanks for the quick response! I did have it setup so I can view the cctv from my phone. This was all setup by a cctv company. I didn't so any of this myself. No changes to my network that I know. I do not own any of the devices. Its like they are using my NVR to use additional bandwidth. I...

    Random router connections

Cant say I've seen that before, I guess its possible you are port forwarding and have been hacked... wouldnt be the first.. Will need a LOT more information.. 1- Are you port forwarding your router to be able to see your cameras when remote? 2- Has anything changed on your network before this...

    IP Camera recommendations

Maybe less? I know the IPC-HFW5442-ZE doesn't meet requirements (because the three alarms are 2 in/1 out) but Andy's version of that model is $210. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/review-oem-ipc-b5442e-ze-4mp-ai-varifocal-bullet-camera-with-starlight.39531/ The IPC-HFW5442H-ZE looks to be pretty...

Password Changing on Re-Branded Hikvision cameras and Hikvision cameras alike - Need Help

Some background information. So this has been an on going thing that's been happening more often as of late. I work for a distributor and we've installed several different camera brands/models through the years. Depending on the system, we will set it up so it can be reached remotely through our...

    Reolink - good & bad

There are no positive to reolink. Hikvsion makes crappy cameras as well, you need to purchase the correct models. If you would, you would know how shitty reolink really is. Reolink does not make a single camera that is good in low light. Their firmware is utter shit not allowing for iframe...

Just got 1st cam (5442). Configuration questions. Quicksync, H.265 etc

The dangerous misinformation your provide is tiresome and troubling. Stop it. Port forwarding is not safe. You can post this nonsense elsewhere. Reducing the traffic hitting the server is of no consequences. It does not affect performance. IF you are stupid enough to port forward the blue iris...

Just got 1st cam (5442). Configuration questions. Quicksync, H.265 etc

Oh combating the paranoid misinformation here regarding port forwarding is quite tiresome... CLUELESS is all I can say. I run several servers and many security systems and I can tell you that nothing could be farther from the truth. The amount of random, incoming connections on port 80 for...

    Router reboot loses cameras

Once again by port forwarding your device you are exposing your entire network to being hacked and probably in violation of Hipaa As I understand from your previous posts you operate a business that stores medical records.

    Router reboot loses cameras

Not to mention all the law suits that may follow for breach of privacy or damages through loss of credit / debit card information and financial loss through misuse. Tens of thousands of CCTV cameras are botted and hacked every year. The number isn't small nor is the risk. When you open a port...

    Router reboot loses cameras

Hopefully you get hacked and expose your patients/clients privileged information. This is the only way you learn. Lots of people don’t take security seriously that’s why hackers hack.

    Router reboot loses cameras

This. Turning your cameras into bots and adding them to the collective. Dahua has a bad track record with this. @alastairstevenson is correct insofar as port forwarding is a terrible idea. I'd never encourage that.
