Thanks @sebastiantombs for the kind words and the ideas :) I agree that comparison testing against 'other' brands can be incredibly useful. Certainly am open to what the community would like me to test against and then would have to look at how to source/fund etc anything I can't get my hands on...

@wittaj Somehow I don't think HookUp really does any fine tuning on anything, after all fine tuning a Reo is a joke, so you can bet everything is left on auto in every other camera he compares to. Plus I don't think HookUp has the expertise, at least nowhere near the level of Wildcat_1.

That is a great idea! I am not aware of any good videos that compares reos to good cameras. Yeah the hookup has done one or two with Andy's cams compared to reo, but taking a 2.8mm and trying to evaluate it at 60 feet is going to struggle for every 2.8mm camera.

Great intro video! You're going to put the "HookUp" out of business in short order given that video combined with your knowledge and expertise. It would be fun to have a Reolink "equivalent" to directly compare to any of the ones you've tested. Maybe we could cloud fund a way to get them to you?

It is actually pretty easy. In simplest form, buy a spare NIC card, drop it in your PC in a spare PCIe slot, configure properly using the guidance on this site. There are some really good diagrams on this site which makes it even easier to get the correct hookup.

That is your problem. Reolinks do not work well with Blue Iris and is even worse with DeepStack. Was the YT you watched the hookup by any chance... Blue Iris is great and works with probably more camera brands than most VMS programs, but there are brands that don't work well or not at all -...

Do not follow anything the Hookup says or you will get burned just like other new members that came here AFTER being burned by him. He gets affiliate pay for everything he recommends. Just do a search on the Hookup on this forum and find all the "I've been burned by the hookup" posts... Here...

I dont think these cameras were cheap.. they might be just installed 15 years ago and never touched again. these 700TVL systems are quite common here in europe... no real crimes, so why rip off a working system ? if they had hire hookup earlier... then they had reolink 4k crystal clear image ;)
