    Hikvision DS-7616N-E2 / 8P

Thanks! Good idea! I checked, they are set to H.264. I'm surprised that the 8MP DS-2CD2085G1-l works, but the DS-2CD1383G2-LIU(F) doesn't work. Does anyone know if I get a new Hikvision 4K NVR, will the old cameras work (Backward compatible)?

    Hikvision DS-7616N-E2 / 8P

Also - I've just remembered - the E-series NVRs don't support the h.265 codec, just h.264. So worth checking the camera web GUI to see if h.265 is enabled by default.

    Hikvision DS-7616N-E2 / 8P

Both cameras you quoted are 8MP models - the E-series NVRs do not support that resolution, you'd need a newer NVR model for them. Also - it's likely that the NVR would complain of a 'language mismatch' when adding EN cameras as the DS-7616N-E2/8P (If that's the correct model, ie not...

    Wired system, offsite storage

I use everywhere Unifi Network solutions. When it comes to the network for Pro user, Unifi is the best. And very simple to use. When it comes to cameras - I have tested Unifi Protect many times. The mobile application and web panel are really cool and easy to use. They beat everything on the...

Camera sensor specs comparison and shipping cameras to Europe

It's not the same camera. The specs say that the SF-IPT838CWHA-4U-AI2 is a "full color" camera with a white LED light. The 5442-series cameras use IR LEDs. And the mounting base doesn't look like a 5442's base, or anything Dahua that I've ever seen.

IPC Cam power while in NVR but not in PoE Switch

I updated the post with the link of switch, it have a total budget of 230W, with two ports that can offer up to 90W and other 14 ports offering up to 30 W My PTZ cam uses up to 33W with IR light on (20W if off). The Facial Access uses up to 12W. I also tested use only IPC cam on switch, but it...

IPC Cam power while in NVR but not in PoE Switch

The specs say that camera requires POE+and up to 24.3 watts...that's a lot! You are likely exceeding the power budget of the POE switch when you plug it in there. What is the max power budget of that POE switch and the max wattage for a SINGLE port? Add up the max power (watts) required of all...

I have a PoE IPC CAM, a PoE NVR, and a PoE Switch For some reason, my IPC Cam stopped powering on when plugged in Switch (used to work), but if plug it in my NVR, it power normally. I changed port, the network cable but not solved. For information, i also have a PoE PTZ Cam and a Facial...

Mixed use sata SSDs for Continuous recording?

I tried to use an external HDD, but at least with an optiplex 7040 running server 2022 that did not go well, as the HDD controller had a connectivity blip and BI hung as a result. I'm temporarily using a 1tb consumer grade SSD I had around. I was previously running BI on an esxi VM but it was...

    Hikvision Product Comparison

It's too bad the sheet seems to be broken still, it sounds super useful. I'm looking at various consumer-grade POE Pan&Tilt cameras with two-way audio. Currently, I am trying to understand the differences between these Hikvision models, but would also be interested in any other recommended POE...

    PTZ5A4K-25X and IPC-Color4K-T180 settings...

On those 2 samples I think you're fighting a couple of things 1- 4k/8MP camera on a too small sensor. Dont buy any more 4K PTZs Dahua sells a bunch of crap PTZs with inadequate sensors. The only ones from their entire catalog I'd be interested in are the 4MP/ 1/1.8 sensor models. So Basically...

    DS-2CD2047G2H-LI vs DS-2CD2047G2-LU

Not exactly. Regarding the 2047G2 (4MP) series that the OP inquired about, both the original (DS-2CD2047G2-LU) and the hybrid (DS-2CD2047G2H-LIU) have a 1/1.8" sensor. What you're probably thinking of is the 2087G2 (8MP) - where the original (DS-2CD2087G2-LU) had 1/1.2", but the hybrid...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)
