    DHCP or static?

My immediate thought also, this should be an easy enough change approach with a lot less uncertainty. Presumably the new WiFi equipment was not able to be configured with the same network configuration / SSID / access key settings as the one it replaced? Should in theory be an easy change...

    DHCP or static?

Sounds like you never encountered a rogue DHCP installation. Or worked on a secure network with more than one segment. Static IPs are a must on any corporate network - knowing where the assets are is mandatory, not being dependant on some other server that may have vanished, may not be up yet...

You're probably right - in which case it will vanish shortly.

Hikvision NVR motion detection resets after restart

@wittaj comments are valid. To confirm this, try accessing the camera web GUI events configuration after you've configured the motion detection in the NVR, and see if the NVR has been able to back load and save the configuration on to the camera. It's generally on the camera that the motion...

    How to reset cameras?

That sounds like a quick and reasonable approach to use for the (unspecified) cameras if they don't have an externally-accessible reset button.

Adding non-Hik cameras to Hikvision NVR PoE ports

The NVR PoE ports are configured with an IP address (usually in the 192.168.254.x range for Hikvision) where the NVR expects to find the camera. The camera IP address needs to be set to match the address that the NVR PoE port expects to find it at. What protocol do the cameras support that the...

Hikvision - Clearing Passwords and/or Loading Firmware via TTL Serial

What does SADP show for the IP address of the camera, and is it in the same range as the laptop is using? If not - a connection will time out. https://www.hikvisioneurope.com/uk/portal/?dir=portal/Software/Software%20Tools/SADP

DHCP and static IP can co-exist on Windows.

Under Linux, multiple network profiles can be defined with whatever parameters are required, with selection of whichever one is needed for the work in hand just 2 mouse clicks away. A simple and very useful facility for those of us messing about at that level.

    Hikvision camera

The SADP screenshot doesn't show the firmware version, or the IP address. If the firmware version is 5.4.0 or earlier, it should be possible to extract the password by using a backdoor exploit to pull a copy of the configuration, which can then be decrypted and decoded to reveal the password...

Hikvision IP Camera POE Long Distance Connection Issue

I think that both those statements let out PoE voltage drop as the issue, assuming the 12v adaptors were local to the camera. It seems to be a data transmit problem, not a PoE problem. What was the full speed? What type of ports was the cable connected to on this test, eg 100BaseT or Gigabit...

Hikvision - Clearing Passwords and/or Loading Firmware via TTL Serial

Use it instead of the Hikvision tftp updater tool when the firmware file size is larger than 32MB.

IP address moved to new Web address?

Presumably using Chrome browser, or maybe Firefox? Blocked as an ERR_UNSAFE_PORT edit as per the screenshot on your first post. Allow per-site insecure content in Site Settings under Privacy & Security. Or click the settings button to the left of the URL when attempting access.

    DS-7708NI-I4/8P Reboot Loop (Hikvision)

Int It's a bit of a mystery why it's behaving differently as opposed to just doing a fairly quick restart as it did to begin with. Does the web GUI work and look normal? How close to actually working does it seem to be?

    Offline Camera

That is correct, the NVR has administrative control of the cameras via the Hikvision command&control protocol and the admin userID/password. When the camera is 'activated', such as when a new Inactive camera is first connected, the camera IP address is assigned by the NVR to match the IP address...
