Hikvision NVR motion detection resets after restart

I have Hikvision DS-7716NI-M4/16P
i am trying to setup motion detection on my ONVIF cameras, i set the area and sensitivity that i want and Save, everything looks good.


After i restart the NVR the settings revert to this....


What is the problem and is there a solution apart of returning this NVR and getting a Dahua?
I am using the newest Firmware V5.03.000_240428

It is best to match brand of NVR with camera.

It is also best to make the changes to camera settings in the camera GUI via a web browser and not thru the NVR.

To confirm this, try accessing the camera web GUI events configuration after you've configured the motion detection in the NVR, and see if the NVR has been able to back load and save the configuration on to the camera.
It's generally on the camera that the motion detection processing takes place.

Slightly off topic, why cant i make changes to this menu anymore, in the 4.x DVR firmware i was able to change from plug n play to Hikvision etc. now it is all greyed out with the new 5.0
