    UI3 Tablet Recommendations

Couldn't find any of my install photos, but basically I just used the POE power adapter included with the mount. I had the CAT6 pre-fished into the wall locations where I knew I wanted wall mounted tablets when we renovated the house. If you don't have pre-existing CAT5/CAT6 in the walls, they...

Imou 6mp outdoor cam, same as Dahua? Annoyed friend...

IMOU is the consumer facing division of dahua. Dahua officially only does OEM. From a functional perspective, I would hazard a guess they are the same

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

Been busy with work and family for the holidays, but yes, I definitely intend to try out the newest beta ASAP! Will report back when I get a chance.

Sorry to hear you ran into those troubles. In my review, you can see photos of how everything came out of the box. Screws were in sealed bags. Might you have received a used doorbell? Either way, I would take it up with the retailer. I don't have a way of measuring the screw threads...

    UI3 Tablet Recommendations

I'm using 2017 HD 10s and HD8s. I preferred rootable models from the start because I knew I wanted the flexibility to root just in case. I deliberately chose old models because they are easier to root, cheap (costs add up when you have 5-10 of these installed), and they are easy to source. At...

The base, always on, dashboard for me is home habit (linked above). The overlay animation and contents are handled by the awesome Overlays app: Overlays - Floating Apps Launcher - Apps on Google Play. Overlays is great in that it can render whatever you want over another app. You can choose...

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

BI has an option to bind to a specific network interface on your server in the webserver settings. If this is enabled (usually for security), BI won't listen on localhost anymore - you have to use your BI IP instead.

Do you guys have very busy environments? Also on the same firmware? I'm wondering why our results seem so different. I'll have to update the review to reflect this feedback so others are aware.

Ah, interesting benchmarks! If you don't want to bother with GPU, it might be worth considering putting that same investment towards a CPU instead. I moved to an i7-10900K recently and am pretty impressed with the deepstack performance. Here are my numbers for 1536 x 2048 on the latest windows...

You have to downgrade, not upgrade. They took out ccd for newer versions of batch config for some reason. I was never able to successfully change the fps. Looks like they may have locked it?

Motion detection worked for me, but I had to greatly reduce the orange area to cover far less than expected. My suspicion is that the unusual aspect ratio of the image is not being correctly mapped 1:1 to the exclusion painting tool. Which version of batch config are you using? I was able to...

Ah, thanks for the reminder! I'll check the feed again to see if there's any low light activity. It's been pretty quiet around here at night. Otherwise I'll do a manual walk test. Just to clarify, from the live viewing and testing I've done in our environment, it doesn't perform any better or...

Blue Iris + Plex: Bad Idea?

Yeah, that's the paradox. BI is optmized for Quicksync while Deepstack plays nicer with nvidia. You can still go all software for deepstack though, so no worries. Substreams will automatically lower your CPU usage as long as you have them setup in BI. It used to be BI used the full frame high...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Yes, what @flynreelow posted above should work. For me, I just used the generic profile in the latest version of BI and it pulled both primary and substreams automatically (but I filled in the password field).

Blue Iris + Plex: Bad Idea?

It will ultimately depend on a laundry list of of factors including off the top of my head: How frequently your deepstack is being triggered and if you have a GPU for deepstack (deepstack for windows is a resource hog) How much motion activity your BI needs to process If you can use substreams...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I wouldn't categorize them the same. The DHI-VTO2202F-P is more in the "doorstation" category. It's more feature rich (POE, and maybe SIP?), and probably better material and build quality, but also several orders of magnitude higher in price. The install is also much more involved, so it's well...

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

Just wanted to report back to say this new version (V1.2.1) with MQTT is working beautifully, thanks! I now have it setup to send a jpg snapshot of the triggering image to our phones via pushover. It's also working in conjunction with the rest of my HA to trigger related functions (turn on...

Ah! that fixed the startup issues for me. In my case (win10), the bin files were dumped into a crazy directory. The entire path and its contents were left behind in the uninstall. C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\On Guard\On Guard Once I finally found those bin...

No worries, I'll try to sort it out. The camera info from the previous install is getting left behind somewhere. Just need to find it for a clean install. Right now I can't redo the setup because the app crashes when I get to the camera setup page (even after uninstalling and rebooting) I've...

This is great, thanks for adding MQTT! Unfortunately, installing the update broke my install. It looks like the cameras aren't found anymore which is crashing the app. Here's what happened. Closed onguard. Ran a dirty update over the original install by running new setup.exe Saw MQTT settings...

If that's the case, the short answer is no. The long answer is anything is possible but you may have to invest quite a bit of time into building that works reliably for you (I use relays to trigger a chime in my home automation setup). Just as a matter of keeping things simple, I don't...

Correct, H265 is supported which should mean better compression. However, I did not have a chance to use and test is since my own BI setup is not currently handling H265 videos correctly.

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

Good questions and points. Ultimately, my goal is to find a reliable way to use face detection to do more advanced automations such as setting home occupancy, recording when unknown people/vehicles come by, or managing locks. That's more a long term item though, so yes, you're right, in my own...

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

On a high level, I use MQTT as a universal bus to communicate between platforms. In practice, that means I connect my home automation server to send updates to devices including cameras, switches, wall mounted tablets, etc and vice versa (i.e. if a tablet detect motion, send activity to home...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Glad to hear it. I tried something similar (AI based auto unlock) about 2 years ago, but it wasn't reliable enough for something as important as a door lock. Would be interested in hearing your results. Good luck!

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I don't use HA, but you can try ONVIF to get the motion event out. I think there is also an MQTT to ONVIF bridge somewhere. You could try using dewarp filters in ffmpeg, but I suspect it would be too slow for facial recognition on a door lock. Otherwise you might want to mask out the capture to...
