Imou 6mp outdoor cam, same as Dahua? Annoyed friend...

Friend of mine is had CCTV cameras installed. He was quoted on Dahua 6mp cameras, but the installer then used Imou 6mp cameras.

Friend is quite stressed as he doesn't know whether he is being ripped off or cheated in any way. Installer says it's the same thing.

FTR this is the Imou camera they installed: IMOU 6MP IP67 PoE Turret 2.8mm

Could you guys please advise if A, this is a good camera, and B, if my mate is being cheated.

PPS: I note the Imou has 30 mt IR and the Dauhua has 50...

IMOU is the consumer facing division of dahua. Dahua officially only does OEM.

From a functional perspective, I would hazard a guess they are the same

So, seeing the cases appear different I thought that one might be metal and one 'plastic' - but it seems from the data sheets they are both metl.

The data sheets are both Dahua Data Sheets, and IMOU is a Dahua brand.

I'd compare the 2 data sheets - so far from a quick glance imho: it could be fine.
