    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Oh, awesome! Your FCC-fu is much better than mine. Good find on the firmware too! Was wondering about ways to preserve them. Did you guess the path? The directory isn't openly listing

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

No connectivity issues for me, but our place has a mesh network which comprehensively covers the property. One access point is 10ft away, ceiling mounted. Uptime has been 100% That said, I don't have much info on wifi performance aside from RSSI measured off my access points (it was about the...

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I forgot to mention: some people probably want to know about alexa and Google connectivity. I didn't have a chance to check that, but I did notice the DB1C showed up in my list of devices in the alexa app.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

I suppose it comes down to several factors (compatibility with your existing setup, viewing angles, etc): For me personally, it would come down to if I needed ONVIF or not. If I know for sure I don't care about ONVIF, I'd get the new one. In fact, even if I already have one, it's affordable...

Dec 2020 - Comparison of RTSP Doorbells

Thanks to @Tiffytaffy and @andreq i got off my butt and picked up a DB1C. Comparison updated to add DB1C to the charts and review link.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Yeah, sorry, I wasn't clear. The leaf blower video is definitely a poor example for sound quality. I didn't mention this in the review, but after using the DB1C for a few days, it SEEMS the mic picks up more sound compared to the old model. Just wish I had a way to measure that

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

Oops! My mistake. Forgot to turn on sound on the export. Video re-uploaded. Thanks for catching that. I don't have a way to objectively measure this, but it appears to me the new doorbell picks up more sound.

    Review: EZVIZ DB1C

The EZVIZ DB1 (and its variants) has been the doorbell of choice for most IP cam enthusiasts in the last few years owing to its quality, reasonable price, local streaming connectivity, flexibility, community support, and overall value. Two years after the introduction of the DB1, EZVIZ is first...

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

So far, it seems to play nicely with BI, at least just as well as the original model. I plan to publish the full review in a few days after collecting more test data

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yeah, I have the same issue. I think some units have poorer QC. The new version, DB1C which I'm reviewing right now has much clearer picture quality.

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

That would be great, thanks! Yes, I think this would be a good start. This would already cover my own use case, and I believe it should cover 80% of users. The only thing I would MAYBE add is to also send the binary data (the image file)? I don't use that at the moment, and I wouldn't want it if...

Home Depot Video Doorbell - SECUR360

Interesting find. Looks like a viable candidate for a reasonably decent and cheap wifi doorbell. Are you able to find any details on the production?

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Yes, for sure. I think AI detection is probably one of the biggest highlights for the new model. Good suggestion! I'll do my best to give a clear and fair representation

New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

Hey everyone, Just a heads up, I was able to get a review unit of the DB1C from EZVIZ. Full review will be going up in a couple of days. @andreq already put up some good info, but if there is anything you want to know, please message me. Thanks!

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

Thanks for the reply. Makes sense to me :) Yes, email works. In my specific case, mqtt opens up a whole range of possibilities for further integration, but URLs are a good workaround for now. Just thought of one more: Add ability to identify negative activity (i.e. turn off a home automation...

Shed Interior Temp to Blue Iris Overlay!

Nicely done. You can do the same thing with your other home assistant items (heater on/off, door open/closed status, alarm status, etc) I've been using bi macros for this very same purpose on a different home automation platform.

    UI3 Tablet Recommendations

Here's something I'm running. UI3 is part of it, but it's not strictly for monitoring BI. I have several of these around the house. The hardware is all based on cheap fireHDs rooted, but running the stock OS. Here's a quick summary of what they do: The tablets wake hands-free when someone is...

Yet Another Free Extension for Blue Iris Adding AI Object Dectection/Reduction in False Alarms/Enhanced Notification of Activity/On Guard

Hey, just found this and gave it a test drive. Seems to work quite nicely! Thanks for putting this out there. I plan to give it a longer term trial to see how things go. If you're open to feature requests, here are a few off the top of my head: Add support for MQTT protocol in order to connect...

Severe video blocking and artifacting with Dahua and new i7 Blue Iris server

Happy post-Thanksgiving everyone. I wanted to let it run for a few days before reporting back, but here's a quick update. Changed windows settings to Power Display screen: never. Turned out it didn't make a difference. Increased Receive buffer in BI from 6MB to 20MB. Improved a little, but...

Severe video blocking and artifacting with Dahua and new i7 Blue Iris server

Ah, I (hopefully!) think I found the culprit. As @SouthernYankee mentioned, I didn't have Power Display screen: never configured. @chaosengine yes, it's quite strange. Can't figure out what it could be. At least 1 of the HFW5431E and 2 of the HDW5231R are showing this problem. They are all run...

Severe video blocking and artifacting with Dahua and new i7 Blue Iris server

Thanks for the reply. You reminded me I forgot to include a few more details: Problem happens during day and night, even when lighting is good. Definitely more noticeable at night though. Severe video blocking and artifacting with Dahua and new i7 Blue Iris server

Hi ipcam community, I'm tearing my hair out over this issue and hoping someone can help! I feel like I've gone through the entire checklist already, but no matter what, several wired cams are showing really bad artifacting on capturing motion (cars passing by or even people walking). The...

Dec 2020 - Comparison of RTSP Doorbells

Welcome to the doorbell club! That resolution is interesting. Is it actually a square image? Do you mind sharing a screencap? I noted on the specs there's no mention of a PIR sensor. Can you confirm if there is or isn't one? Thx!

How to wire Swann doorbell - can POE be cobbled to achieve power

By the way, i overlooked from your first post the doorbell supports batteries. In this case, it takes DC power for sure. The surefire way then, would be to figure out the battery voltage, match those specs with a power supply, and connect your ethernet to the battery lugs. Otherwise, if you...
