    Blue Iris v.5 first thought/impressions

There is. It requires additional licensing for each computer you want to install the remote console on. You add the remote locations via the Status icon. Works both over the internet and over the LAN. The GUI is still not 4K ready and is still a big drain on resources, so being able to...

Ran into that. Disabling Nvidia HW acceleration fixed it. Might not have been your particular cause, but figured I'd reply to the thread in case it might help someone else.

Blue Iris 4 to 5 Migration Guide

Just an FYI for folks, seems to be some sort of limit to how many cameras can use NVidia decoding at once. After 37 cameras, none would connect. I started switching some of the connected cameras to Intel, and for each one I switched, one of the ones that wouldn't connect (that was set to Nvidia)...

After correcting the www path I had the same error. Stopped BI and the service. Re-ran the installer and told it to repair. Started the service and the GUI. Web site is now working.

IPC-HDW5231R-Z - Pinout SOLVED, yet not....

Thank you. It's 10:15pm, raining, and we finally got through the dang concrete and rebar wall. I go to hook up the camera, nada, dead. Further inspection, the jack is rusted and then some. Owner supplied the camera, no idea where it came from. Thanks for saving me a half day of unpaid work for...

    Blue Iris UI3

I finally figured out why UI3 was going crazy when I connected from home. I had turned on load balancing between Comcast and AT&T troubleshooting something the other day and forgotten to set it back to failover. The same session running from different IPs did not make it happy. Sooo, if you're...

Connect and administer blue iris from another PC?

Many smart things support using your phone as a remote. That gains you keyboard and copy/paste from a password manager. LastPass has my Netflix/HBO/etc. passwords crazy and long, typing them by up/down/left/right/OK is a nightmare.

Grandma still finds it somehow. Old folks can be pretty determined when they don't want to change ;) Now that you mention it though, I haven't seen IE in a while on any of the grandma's systems. Things are improving :)

BP2008, any chance the camera labels might not cover the video feed at some point? "Above" and "Below" just cover other camera feeds instead of covering the one labeled like "Top" and "Bottom" do. Ideally above/below would shift the row of cameras enough to make space for the label.

    Blue Iris UI3

I'm slowly dumpstering the older cameras that require IE to configure them. Will be glad when they're all gone. It just gets my hackles up every time I have to deal with it. It can't be secured. Not a big deal if you're just signing into a camera (as long as it's not an infected camera) but I...

    Blue Iris UI3

As far as I can tell, the BI GUI isn't hardware accelerated at all. Or maybe just "sometimes". I don't see it bump up GPU in Task Manager but it sure impacts CPU. I've got GT710s in a few systems and it's not visibly making use of them. CUDA does though. Reducing the live preview rate to...

Damn, there is a "Help" in the web page. And it's even thorough. I feel like an idiot. But, seriously, it's been so long since I've seen a useful help tab.... Damn... It's always "Look in the forum or the wiki" "First post" etc. Damn lol I had a feeling. When launching with the -fullscreen or...

Could you edit Post #1 to include these? Maximize=1 works nicely to fill the chrome window. Is there a way to get it to go full screen?

Connect and administer blue iris from another PC?

If you're going to RDP, set the "Video During Remote Desktop"under the camera tab to one update either every 5 or 20 seconds. It should help a good bit. If you're going to use other remote support tools, SplashTop and TeamViewer are the two best for video of the ones I've tested. And of...

    Blue Iris UI3

Well, heck, I just manually tested it by stopping and restarting the BlueIris service and it worked fine. It had gotten stuck in the past. Sooooo, I guess if it gets stuck at some point in the future I'll take a screenshot and document what I know of the situation. Thanks for the work you've...

    Blue Iris UI3

I need to display cameras 24/7 at a remote locations without staff interaction. UI3 works very well, except that if the connection is interrupted (Comcast issues, reboot BI, whatever) I have to manually remote in and kick it back off. Is there any way to set the UI3 to just keep retrying to...

    BlueIris: Record to NAS issues

The "fast then slow" copying of large files could just be "slow" with the "fast" stage just filling up the cache. Personally I'd want to confirm the problem was with the Synology and not something about the network. But if you're sure it's the Synology, just googling "synology slow transfer"...

Run Blue Iris as a Win32 service ?

The main goal of running it as a service is reliability. Running as a service is more reliable than auto-run after auto log on. I prefer to change the BI service to "delayed start" to bump that reliability up a bit more. Running headless and doing most things via the new web interface remotely...

Run Blue Iris as a Win32 service ?

Unless you download and install the 32bit version it is running as 64 bit. When they're referring to "Win32 service" it's programming terminology that hasn't changed over the years even though the capabilities have. Microsoft doesn't like to force big corporations to chose between spending...

    Combining two blue iris feeds

    Combining two blue iris feeds

To connect one BI to another BI I've used the following in video set up: Make: Generic Model: Raw H.264 Path: /h264/XXX/temp.h264 <- replace XXX with the short camera name you chose under General I haven't looked into getting PTZ/IR etc working or audio. It's a handy way to keep an off site...

Run Blue Iris as a Win32 service ?

TLDR: Stick with 64 bit, there's no practical benefit to 32 bit on a modern system. Details: The main practical difference between 32 bit and 64 bit programs is how much memory they can make use of. 32 bit programs get capped around two or three gigs. 64 bit don't. An additional benefit on...

    BlueIris: Record to NAS issues

Are you using a managed switch configured to bond the specific ports your Synology is plugged into? If you aren't, disconnect the 2nd network cable and disable bonding. Jumbo frames can also be a problem. Your network equipment needs to support this stuff. Most cheap retail stuff doesn't. And to...

"With D2D recording, this can only start on a key frame boundary. Ideally, the camera will send one 1 key frame per second. Please see what yours is sending ... look at status/cameras. The key frame rate is shown alongside the overall rate." - BlueIris Support reply I got a while back So, in...

    BlueIris: Record to NAS issues

When a Windows service needs to access a network share there needs to be an account on the Windows computer that matches exactly the account name and password on the network share. A local account is preferable. A separate account from the one you sign in with is a good idea, so that you can...
