    LPR camera mount suggestion

Really you need to weigh up the options available to you and make a decision about where is the best spot right now. The best spot might not be the easiest spot or it might not be the best spot forever. You seem pretty adamant that you have to capture cars coming from the right of your house...

    LPR camera mount suggestion

Look where the next house along is. Then draw a line from there to your driveway and assume they build up to the boundary. That's going to leave you fuck all view for a camera. And that's just the wall. There'll be a roof on top of that too at the exact same height as your camera but sticking...

Is that a vacant block next to your house or is it part of your land? The second a house goes up on you will lose that view point.

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

It's in a shitty grandstream camera I have. It wasn't hidden. It was just in the network settings like you might find for email or something in any other camera.

Synology Surveillance Station cannot find camera in different subnet

Well that's the location you would normally find the bridge mode setting. But if yours can't do it you will need to buy a separate Poe switch (unless you already have one) in order to put the cameras on the 192 network.

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

I had to reset a camera today that was giving me some trouble. After the reset it suddenly started flooding my logs with block notices. I had forgotten to turn off auto update. So I turned that off but it was still flooding the logs. I had to dig through the settings to find another setting I...

Many of the people that complain about their cameras and nvrs talking on the internet and phoning home etc are perfectly happy to use mobiles phones which do exactly the same thing.

Cams and internet connectivity at driveway gate

I assume you have a switch at either end of your fibre run. Are they managed switches? Can they handle vlans? You could configure two vlans on the switches. One for your cameras and bi network and the other for the gate controller. Then on the switch inside your house you would have a...

Synology Surveillance Station cannot find camera in different subnet

In many nvrs you have the option to bridge the Poe ports to the NVR wan port. Not sure if yours does but it probably can. What this will do is make the Poe ports act like a Poe switch on your 192 network and the 10 network will cease to exist. You will still need to manage the network...

NVR continually contacts many Dahua Websites

There's all sorts of things going outbound by nvrs and cameras. There'll be p2p stuff (even if turned off I reckon there's still a heartbeat of some sort), there'll be notification stuff, email, time server, checking for updates etc etc. Almost all of it would be pretty harmless, but you can't...

My Dahua NVR5432 was hacked last week!

That might be too large a leap to do in one hit. If you're buying ubiquiti kit why not look at their routers, they have a really good vpn feature called teleport, which i think is built off wireguard.

Dahua is going bigger 1/1.8" sensor in lower lines: new WizColor series, 3449-PRO and 2449-PRO lines

1/1.2" sensor that can also do IR would be nice. 4mp on 1/1.2" would be nicer.

IPCT Major software update in works at IPCT

Hah. Well the next revision (ipct 4.0 dark) is getting better. I don't think I'll use it though. My eyes disagree with it which is a failing of my eyes not necessarily the theme.

Dahua is going bigger 1/1.8" sensor in lower lines: new WizColor series, 3449-PRO and 2449-PRO lines

We're starting to see more and more 4mp cameras with 1/1.8" sensors from other vendors too. It's like they're finally starting to move towards becoming the standard sensor.

Not sure if this is the dark theme you're referring to (UI.X Dark) but it's difficult to read certain text. And still has blue banners and other sections in white that just jump out at you. You also can't see thread titles.

Run a single multi sensor camera with separate IP addresses on generic DVR/NVR

Maybe. The only NVR and cameras guaranteed to work together are ones of the same brand and even then it might depend on the model. If the NVR supports onvif then it's likely that it will be able to connect to it, but it may only be able to pull video only. No alerts or etc.

    Camera recommendations for narrow corridors

Just be aware that some cameras can't run at full resolution when in corridor mode. I have a HDW3549 on one side of my house and I tried it on corridor mode. I forget the specifics but it wouldn't let me run it at the full resolution. I had the drop it down. I just put it back to normal mode...

Like their cloud key's or something but for AI? Not sure why they would need the display panels like they've got in the render. Just because they can i guess.

Reolink CX810 ~$60USD only? Good specs?

good old ozbargain. Like the comments on that page say though, the CX410 would be better for night vision, being a 4mp camera with a 1/1.8" sensor. The current price for the CX410 direct from Reolink is AUD$119

Oh here's another interesting one for this camera. It's also trying to access 192.168.2.1 I know this because i have that address set up on my UCG as a honeypot. Reolink CX810 ~$60USD only? Good specs?

It does have good specs on paper, but i would be concerned about what manual controls you have over things like exposure and gain etc. Buy one and report back your findings. :) EDIT: At AUD$140 i'm not inclined to test it out.
