    Not exactly what you want but I have the Home assistant send a snapshot of my mailbox when the motion sensor inside is triggered. My cameras record 24/7 so I have a time stamp to look in the recordings if I need more than the picture to confirm it's the mail truck.

    Most PTZ will be able to point at the wall for you, automating it to do easily would be the harder part.

    I think if you give us your use case we might be able to get more specific with out suggestions. Inside cameras are pretty easy especially if you just do what I do an use a smart plug to cut power. Outside is a little bit more challenging.

    PIR alone is pretty useless. with the the DB1, it has to be set to the smallest zone unless you want traffic all the way out in in the street. It's not the best sensor. I belive the DB1c has human detection.

    3 options Replace with cameras/NVR that is smart and had person/car detection built in Frigate NVR. use machine learning to do object detection. (I use this and have it paired to home assistant to do my notifications) Blue Iris and deep stack - Uses machine learning to do object detection.

    Does it allow you to add the camera above? If so you can click on the gear and then find the wifi settings and put in your wifi creds. I had to do this but I did have to hook the computer directly to the WIFI ap created by the camera.

    I mean I have my cell phone, I can tether with USB all I want. Sure it's not the whole house but it also doesn't cost me any more monthly. Works great with my chrome book. 50/month can buy you a lot of solar.
