Help! Need to catch mice or rats on camera at night!

Dont know if I understand right but are you try to reach the cams with no success? Use only one, you need to be on the same subnet (192.168.1.x) and the cams (both of them) use 192.168.1.108by default. You need to change that in the settings so they dont use the same address. You should be able...

    What is normal cpu usage?

Also, decrease the VIEW fps makes a huge CPU drop. It willl not charge the recording, just the view on the monitor. Settings, cameras, live fps. I have mine at just 2 fps as i do not watch that much live and saves o lot of cpu. I have 10 2Mp at 10fps running on a xeon e3-1265, as a service...

Multiple Remote Locations, Cameras and BlueIris

Be aware that Edgerouter is not "Unifi" with centralized management. You have to fiddle at site with that router, just for knowledge. But better hardware/througput than USG3. TheSwede

Multiple Remote Locations, Cameras and BlueIris

Also if you have such low upload you can use 1 or 2 FPS per camera as it reduces the data a lot, still much better than not be able to see anything !

Multiple Remote Locations, Cameras and BlueIris

I would still go for/push the Unifi track. Been using it like this for a couple of years and learned a bit of it. The USG 3 is not that expensive about 140 US$ and the good thing is that you manage them from a central point, the controller that can be at the Blue Iris pc. Also use a managed...

Multiple Remote Locations, Cameras and BlueIris

Hi ! Before going any further, check that its not CGNAT CarrierGradeNetworkAdressTranslation so you not getting a public ip. Ubiquiti Unifi is simple to work with doing VPN very nice. If you set up different subnets on each place then just set these cameras in BlueIris with the right ipadress...

Help! Need to catch mice or rats on camera at night!

To Cameranewbe123, strange you got so bad result of a lot of cameras. If you want good result (HD) buy a Dahua from Andy here. Dahua ekvivalent of the Vstarcam model is SD29204xx-GN, MUCH better in all aspects in about 8x the price. If you want a new hobby, do like me... Start with Blue Iris who...

Help! Need to catch mice or rats on camera at night!

Here I have a simple cheap 720p VstarCam PT (no z) at my cottage. I'm not there so often so I have multiple traps, and motion detect recording. As You can see it works, there is one more dead mouse in the Victor electric trap in the background. Funny, indoor remote hunting

Tip ! Excellent new? feature I just discovered and really like in UI3, 1 camera up at motion.

One thing I mention to Ken was to have two sound input from two cameras, so when you play a clip you could chose between cam 1/2 (left/right) where the object was closest to for better sound. I mean as it is now you can select sound from another camera, but only one and before the recording...

Tip ! Excellent new? feature I just discovered and really like in UI3, 1 camera up at motion.

Have missed this feature until yesterday when i hovered in downright corner of UI3, there vas a blue circle with a person and some lines. Push that one and as a motiondetect occures the single cam comes up, and closes after motion to the normal grid of cameras. Now it's not much features...

    Any long range guys?

I do some longrange shooting and hunting ! Here is some inspiration for simple solutions. A friend have some problems to see the holes in the paper at 300m so I put together a uglylooking solution. The idea was to be simple to operate, waterproof, no aligning at the target site (PTZ) and be...

Pointers for getting Dahua IPC-T2431T-AS Pan/Tilt control working in BI?

Hi, and welcome ! Thats a nice camera but without PTZ. The onvif might found functions an the processor that responds to commands but the mecanics is missing. Not even varifocal since it is fixed lens. The other turrets with varifocal is not a really zoom, its more "select FOV" and leave it...

rolling bands in image at night

Its POE then its a "clean" powersource so its influenced of other things. If you somehow increase your lightning and switch to longer exposure then you solve the problem as you already tested. If you dont wan't to be seen of the illuminator, use 940nm IR light that is not visible to the human...

Export of clips is greyed out

Ok, tnx for reply! Since it is greyed out I guess it is missing something, what I don't know... BVR decoder is included in BI-5, some MP4/Wm(xx) encoder? The PC is a newly installed win10, which would? have all Wm.. installed ? Brgds TheSwede

Help with a hard wired outdoor camera system

Good idea to install cables right away. If you still missing one cable when you mount multiple cams at one corner, buy a "POE splitter/externder" as the Chinese call them. I have 3 around my house ;-)

POE or DC (bad) input? If DC, is it really stabilized ? not a old (heavy) transformer without stabilizing circuit.
