    That was part of my consideration. It also turns out the mic in the dome is way better. The sound I get out of all my turrets is so muffled and distorted I just turned off the mic on all of them. With the dome I can hear birds tweeting clearly. The turrets I can not make much of anything...

    Over a month later and my Dahua NVR has been silently sitting in the closet recording all the cameras. No reboots yet. So it looks like the firmware upgrade solved the issue.
