    Pandemic threat? Anyone else concerned?

CDC cut their # of deaths almost in half. It's not 64k as previously stated, it's now 37,308. You just can't count that guy with the gunshot wound to the head as dying of C-19 any more. https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/index.htm

    New cam flash's oddly

interesting - I turned off the Intel acceleration when I posted last - 2.5 hours ago - and not one signal loss from that cam. CPU running at 20% with 3 of 5 cams running infrared. I'm good now. :)

    New cam flash's oddly

I followed all of the instructions for acceleration but being a rookie I wouldn't know if it is doing anything or not. Changing from H.265 to H.264 does seem to have stopped the weird screen flash though - but now I see a new problem where it just drops signal for a few seconds. It shows up in...

    New cam flash's oddly

Normal stuff - camera max is 25 FPS so I set iFrame there also but you did make me see that this is the only cam I (accidentally) had on H265. I am changing that to see, but could that be the cause?

    New cam flash's oddly

Brand new IPC-T3241T-ZAS and all seems just fine with it but I started getting this odd flash on the screen and it is quite annoying. Only does it on that one cam view, so it is not the monitor either. Had to shoot this on my cellphone as it does NOT show on any playbacks and never happened...

Indoor camera for remote viewing of screens

Hope you get more feedback but from what I have seen, optical zoom and varifocal are are the same thing but are measured different - just make sure you get motorized. You can get a Dahua 4mp 5x optical zoom from Andy for $50 GBP if you just wanted to test one out. I couldn't find any videos yet...

you can go up to the Wiki to get to the video tutorials which takes you here Video Tutorials but I also just went to his website and hit his playlist and watched all of the videos which are more in order than what you see in the wiki You want videos 5, 7, 8, 9 on his playlist here =>> Even...

Any threads on using clips to tweak motion detection ?

yep, just couldn't find the right wording to do proper searches. I once was a google wizard but even with the site:ipcamtalk.com you have to find the right triggers. Found a lot of threads now - which I prefer over the help file which doesn't let you clarify or ask questions - but ofc I'll read...

Any threads on using clips to tweak motion detection ?

okay, that's a start - I couldn't get to that from the timeline, needed to do it right on a clip but it's not letting me make adjustments while viewing these. I'll be using this in my search parameters now and should be a big help - thanks.

Any threads on using clips to tweak motion detection ?

Hours have passed as I look for ways to use a previously recorded clip to help tweak motion detection. Waiting for the next car or person to come down the road makes no sense so can someone assist in pointing me to other threads or videos discussing this. I've watched the help videos talking...

    Amcrest WiFi Outdoor PTZ

Update: Got the issue resolved and it had nothing to do with the update. On Page 1 post #18, I pointed to a thread about this and I updated that with the solution but . . . basically, it needed to use the Find/Inspect button to fill in the camera type instead of my inputting the values - and I...

Lost PTZ controls with Firmware upgrade - SOLVED

okay, finally figured this out on my own after lots of trial and error. After testing so many combinations of the camera Make and Model and PTZ controls I stumbled on a winner. I changed the “Make” to Axis instead of the others including - Generic/ONVIF (as many suggest) or any of the multiple...

How to remove / deactivate unused IP addresses

I may not even need to do this, so advice on that would be good to hear also. Using Advanced IP Scanner I noticed that I have 2 IP addresses that are still active but not being used. They are the addresses that were assigned by DHCP when I first installed 2 cams over wifi. When those were...

    Preferred camera picture settings

The only time I turn WDR that low is running color at night and then mine is at 15 and just to reduce pixelation. Overall my other settings stay +/- 5 of center. Brightness maybe to 55 but I prefer to adjust the Gamma instead. That picture looks like Saturation is a tad high. Sunny, Cloudy...

    Amcrest WiFi Outdoor PTZ

yep, I watched his video before too - LOL I've rolled back BI to where I know it was working with this cam too. No help. I uninstalled BI cleaned the registry also, reinstalled it - but oddly it still knew some of my settings - so it was not totally wiped. Deleted and reinstalled the cam about...

    Amcrest WiFi Outdoor PTZ

thanks, I'll shoot you a PM here I was questioning the cam and even my POE switch, but since everything works perfectly on the webUI and the Amcrest Surveillance software - I am pretty sure this is something in Blue Iris now.

    Amcrest WiFi Outdoor PTZ

First, with amcrest the W just stands for the color of the mechanism, so yours is White like all of the rest of the 853's Next, the E is their code for a POE capable device. If you have a POE switch you can use that and not the power cord. Finally, I am having a very odd issue with mine that...

I ran a thread on their site about this first then pointed to it when contacting Support - and ofc, they asked questions already answered in that thread - uugh. Lost PTZ controls with Firmware upgrade - SOLVED

I've had an Amcrest ip2m-853e nice PTZ online for a month with no issues until I noticed that it had 2 yr old firmware and there was an update from just last month. The update went easily but now I have no PTZ control in Blue Iris v5 with the latest updates. It will not accept another flash...

    IPC-HDW5231R-ZE vs. IPC-T2231T-ZS-S2 Comparison

    IPC-HDW5231R-ZE vs. IPC-T2231T-ZS-S2 Comparison

I have read in here that the newer generation of 2231's were an improvement over the old ones. If this 2231 is brand new and the 5231 has been mounted in that location for a while - I would actually clean the 5231 lens and try this again with maybe just the paper in your hand. I once had a...

    set i-frames to match FPS

BI-5 manual on page 72/73 basically says that for "direct to disk" recording you should have the FPS/Key (key frames per second) set to 1.00 Info found in BI Status > cameras tab >FPS/key column. A little more searching meant I needed to set each camera i-frames to match the camera FPS to get a...

    IPC-HDW5231R-ZE, Still Top Dog?

with tradeoffs being varifocal lens', microphones & Artificial Intelligence, it will always be a matter of what you really need for your particular situation. a comparison of the 5231 and the 3241 seems to have the 3241 as the winner - but that's just for my needs.

    Review-OEM IPC-T3241-ZAS 2mp AI Lite series Varifocal

Just grabbed one myself and looking forward to the testing. Beautiful color too, so I am looking...

    Review-OEM IPC-T3241-ZAS 2mp AI Lite series Varifocal

I saw earlier in the thread someone asking how it compared to the 5442 but I am curious how it compares to the 5231 actually. Long ago I heard there was no difference between the 2231 and the 5231 other than the audio. Now that this one has audio, it seems to be more bang for the buck than the...

if that time is accurate and it's almost 11pm - I am truly impressed. I really thought it was an afternoon shot wondering why the garage light was on - LOL. The setting on that 5231 must have been way different though as I have seen many pics of 5231 shots that were much better - but still they...

    "check time is out"

If it aint broke - don't fix it this is proven by windows updates - sometimes one will screw things up and have you stressing for hours or days only to find out the "latest / greatest" bug fix was actually the problem.
