    Rage Reduction NVR

This is what I get using your link, same as what I was getting (the : was forgotten in my post, but I had it in the address bar):

    Rage Reduction NVR

OK, got the new Dahua-ish NVR, installed the HDD, connected the cameras, and I'm pretty sure it's connected to my home network. It doesn't see the cameras. The quick-start guide tells me to go to Main menu > CAMERA > Registration, however there is no "registration" anywhere. There was a...

    Rage Reduction NVR

I think I just pissed away $60 on the blue iris software. Tried to use it intuitively but it doesn't 'find' my cameras. Tried the help articles and have no idea what the words mean.

    Rage Reduction NVR

Current setup is EZVIZ NVR in the garage, cameras connect there. 30 foot Cat5 run from the NVR into the house to the wifi router. EZVIZ app on my laptop and phone. The EZVIZ app on my laptop has no problem replaying motion recordings if it's a random car driving past, but whenever there's an...

Looks like I waited too long, price shot back up. :(

16 Channels but only 8 are POE?

Thanks all! Someone in the questions mentioned only 8 were POE and I got confused.

16 Channels but only 8 are POE?

I'm looking at this NVR to replace the suck EZViz one I have now, and although I only have eight cameras, I like the idea of being able to expand if needed. I understand this is a Dahua and looking at the picture of the back of the unit it seems that only 8 of 16 jacks are POE. So what powers...

    NAS Hard Drive?

Good find! I was on Newegg but they never seem to put them on sale. Thanks! The one that died so young in life is a WD 8TB WD82PURZ that wasn't cheap. The platters are spinning but it's not reading/writing anymore.

    NAS Hard Drive?

My expensive surveillance hard drive died after only about two years so I need to replace it. I never see surveillance hard drives on sale, but often see NAS drives on sale. Both are designed to run 24/7 but I understand there are some other differences. Is anyone running a NAS instead of...

Weird sighting after security system and camera installation

If you end up getting your money back, consider installing the next system yourself. The hardest part is running the wires- which will be left behind when you rip out all the perv's equipment (no pun intended). Installing the outside cameras is driving a few screws, same for the inside...

    WiFi Camera Range Poor

Well I've switched channels again and it's been on 24 hours so far without dropping off. I would still like to get a better antenna on the camera, maybe on the end of a short cord to get it up higher. The NVR is of course password protected, but is the signal between the camera and the NVR...

    WiFi Camera Range Poor

Thanks all. It stays on several hours. The nearest wifi by half is the NVR's wifi. I have one neighbor to the rear of the house and their wifi is about twice as far as mine. Same for the neighbor on the left across the street. The easiest and strongest signal should be the NVR.

    WiFi Camera Range Poor

The NVR has it's own wifi, the cameras don't run on my home wifi at all.

    WiFi Camera Range Poor

Because then I have to drill a hole through the house to run that cable. I have eight cameras that are POE, but I wanted to supplement those with some that can be moved around to where I want them. I changed the wifi channel and that helped a lot, it goes half a day or more now before it...

    WiFi Camera Range Poor

I don't know any of the answers to those questions, other than the brand; TMEZON. The previous wifi camera that was in that location used my home wifi, that's why I was looking for a camera with its own wifi this time. I don't understand why it will work, then stop working.

    WiFi Camera Range Poor

I have a few wifi cameras to supplement my 8-camera POE system. It uses its own wifi NVR to receive and record the signals. Two cameras are 100%, but the one out on the fence keeps dropping out. If I reset the power it'll work great for about 15 minutes, then drop out. It has power, I can...

    Hard Drive Priorities

To update this thread, I have a new HDD (shown in the pic above) installed, 7200rpm and 256MB cache. Playback at the NVR seems a little faster but playback remotely hasn't changed. I picked up a CAT7 cable to replace the CAT5e cable that connects the NVR to the wifi router. I haven't done a...

    Hard Drive Priorities

Same system. I don't believe the cameras can be used wirelessly. They are POE only as far as I can tell, and that's how they're connected. There's nothing wireless until the wifi router sends it to the laptop.

    Hard Drive Priorities

    I just tried, made no difference. Here's the important specs of the laptop: OMEN by HP - 15t Laptop •Intel® Core™ i7-7700HQ (2.8 GHz, up to 3.8 GHz, 6 MB cache, 4 cores) + NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 (6 GB GDDR5 dedicated) •15.6" diagonal 4K IPS anti-glare WLED-backlit (3840 x 2160) with NVIDIA...

    Hard Drive Priorities

Thanks for all the info. The lag is during playback. Say a person is walking down the sidewalk past my house. During playback the person is walking, then freezes, then they're fast-walking at mach1 or are suddenly 50' from where they stopped. It does this most of the time, but not all the...

    Hard Drive Priorities

Looking to replace the 2TB drive that came in my NVR. Six cameras currently, will expand to eight eventually. My NVR says it can handle a 6TB drive. So what will happen if, say, an 8TB drive is installed? Will it ignore the extra 2TB or refuse to play nice? If the latter, can I just...

    Camera Compatibility Question- H.264/265?

I have this ezviz system, seems identical to some hikvision systems. I want to add an additional camera (yes, I have the POE ports to do so) but do not see anything in the specs that say H.264 or H.265. The camera i want to add says: "H.265 / H.264 Network 2592 x 1920 Pixel 1920P Power Over...

    Teach me about Hard Drives

This is the current set-up: NVR is in the garage with six cameras connected. There is a monitor connected to the NVR out in the garage that I use to make adjustments and view footage. The NVR is connected to my access point/wifi inside the house by a CAT5 cable. I routinely view footage on...

Input the Device Password - What the Fudge?

Well, we've gotten to the bottom of it. When setting the NVR password it encourages you to choose a strong password, including numbers, letters, and symbols. The NVR accepts symbols in the password, however, the phone and computer apps do not. CS had me reset the password and when I...

Input the Device Password - What the Fudge?

Still nothing from the manufacturer. Entering the admin password (or anything else) gets me the "Incorrect verification code" and entering ABCDEF gets me the message, "Operation failed. Please check the network connection and try again". The network connection is good- I can ping the NVR from...

Input the Device Password - What the Fudge?

EZVIZ EZUN1884A2 It comes up as "Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Tech" in my router. Scan the QR code? With my phone, yes. Then it asks for the verification code. Same as the computer, it wants a verification code.

Input the Device Password - What the Fudge?

I needed to reboot the system this morning to troubleshoot a camera that cuts out. Now I'm getting the loop-of-stupidity trying to log back in. I AM logged in to the computer app. I logged in just fine, it accepts my password. To get to the camera, however, I need to log in to the devices (I...

    EZVIZ Detailed Manual?!

I recently bought and installed a four camera kit from EZVIZ. I'm impressed with the video considering the $200 price of the kit. All they provide is a quick-start guide, but I need a real manual. I want to set up the motion detection but I can't figure it out. Can I set it up to record...
