Dahua IP Cams change IP after NVR restart or power cycle on the cameras

@catcamstar maybe this new image will help. I had to manually register the cameras on the switch (D1 - D5) and assign static IPs for the NVR to work with them. What's happen is the camera in channel D5 with a static IP of (192.1.1.54) is changing to a dynamic IP of (192.1.1.16 ) and moving...

Dahua IP Cams change IP after NVR restart or power cycle on the cameras

I'm having issues with my IP cams changing IPs if they loose power or the NVR is shutdown and turned back on. I have 7 cameras on a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E. 5 of the cameras are connected via a switch that is directly plugged into a port on the back of the NVR. 2 of the cameras are connected...

Help with Access control on ranch gate with RFID cards

has anyone here set up access control on a single gate that could point me in the right direction? I have a ranch gate that I want to setup RFID cards for my workers so I know who is coming in and out of my yard. I have a NVR5216-16P-4KS2E system and wondering if that can be used for access...

    Dahua NVR NVR5216-16P-4KS2E On Amazon

Not necessarily If all u need is one more you could get a single Poe injector for the last one but think your better off getting a different switch with 8 Poe ports unless the cost is so good on the TP link. I assume you need a managed switch ?

    Dahua NVR NVR5216-16P-4KS2E On Amazon

Depends on what NVR you get and if one of those five cameras can have a cable directly to the NVR. The switch is only to reach those cameras that are not close to the NVR that is assuming your NVR has PoE

Looking feedback/suggestions from everyone on camera placements and camera types (turrent, bullet, varifocal, ptz) for the areas I want to cover in my project. Dahua NVR NVR5216-16P-4KS2E On Amazon

Will the NVR5216-16P-4KS2E allow cameras connected via a external switch and cameras connected directly (home run) to work at the same time ? So 4 cameras on a external switch and 8 home runs. I would assume yes but confused after your statement above. Thx

I’m researching NVRs and looking at the Dahua NVR NVR5216-16P-4KS2E. I found it on Amazon Prime. I wanted to ask the group if they have any thoughts on buying Dahua NVRs on Amazon. Thanks @catcamstar I’ll check out the Cam calculator Yes a site to site VPN would be nice. The networking side I am comfortable with configuring (assuming your bandwidths are sufficient, in my case I have low bandwidths at remote sites)

@bp2008 and @fenderman Yes I'm following what you're saying @SouthernYankee. If the machine gets rebooted for any reason then someone will have to go open up new browser instances for each monitor attached correct? A little annoyance but it shouldn't happen very often. I attached a image...

Gotcha. That’s what I thought but then I thought maybe there was a bandwidth thing with CCTV that I didn’t know about :) Okay we’ll I still want to have the same setup and if the bandwidth is a problem I’ll just have to have NVR at the remote locations for recording and then view the streams...
