    DS-7608NI-I2/8P recover firmware

It looks like the tftp command only downloads uImage to memory and doesn't write it to flash. Then the update command still loads the corrupt uImage from flash and fails on startup. So the question is, how to apply the uImage to flash?

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P recover firmware

Yes, that's to apply a uImage file. Your bootloader transcript suggests the uImage is corrupt. It's guess work which uImage to use not knowing the firmware version, but see attached from the K51 4.1.64 firmware. If that works - but the main firmware is then found to be corrupt as well, see if...

Mean Well power supply for POE+ Switch

Did you have an incandescent lamp in the mains feed or have a Variac for that first power-on after repair? Just in case it want's to blow up again.

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P recover firmware

Is that when using a bootloader command, or when the NVR itself probes for a firmware update at power-on? Do you know what version of firmware was installed on the NVR? Also - what tftp updater are you using? With the firmware filesize greater than 32MB, the Hikvision tftp updater won't work...

    Firmware for IP Camera (DS-2CD3346WD-I)

"an English firmware version" won't change the language the camera uses and will likely not install with a 'language mismatch' error. . The camera region / language is defined by the device-specific protected 'bootpara' data that's written into the camera itself during manufacture. This holds...

Interesting YouTube Series Starting - Hikvision Security Camera Firmware Security

I suspect, without testing to confirm it, that doing setenv <one of the variables allowed to be changed> <value> saveenv would automatically calculate and write back the correct Uboot CRC As you say though, interesting to watch. Especially as he includes the bits that don't work as intended.

Did that configuration use an 'app password' for authentication?

Event emails not working from HIK camera.

Did the router LAN address change? What's the gateway address set to in the camera network configuration? Did you used to have a static route configured on the old router to direct camera network traffic via the NVR LAN address?

Hikvision - Clearing Passwords and/or Loading Firmware via TTL Serial

Suggestion, to attempt to see what commands are still available that may be useful to reset the DVR to default settings, at the bootloader HKVS $ prompt try : printenv or if that does nothing setenv ';printenv' help or if that does nothing setenv ';help' and paste the text of the result here...

How Do I get Hikvision NVR interface to show device MAC addesses

What NVR interface or app are you using? Isn't it more useful and intuitive to name the cameras based on their location or some other suitable designation? That's always been possible on all the Hikvision NVRs that I have used.

UniFi Protect Cameras; how can we make sure they are not connected to internet? Aren't they communicating with Ubiquiti servers?

Yes, if you have a (managed) switch that has the ability to do 'port mirroring' where you can configure the port on which the camera traffic flows to mirror the traffic to the port that the PC is connected on so it can be monitored. Otherwise, all you will see from the camera is broadcast and...

Support Needed – Hikvision CCTV Network Issue

Which I think implies that there is a power interruption on the changeover. Yes, if there is a short break in power before the UPS takes over, or if the under-voltage activation of the UPS is set too low for the cameras to still be properly powered. A PoE switch? How are the cameras usually...

    Hikvision IPC DS-2CD2112-I reset

One possible cause could be that the NVR was hacked and the password changed if UPnP is enabled on both the NVR and router, or 'port forwarding' is enabled. Sorry, but these are 'reset request' files that only Hikvision can provide a response file to, they are not configuration files that can...

Hikvision cam adding to DVR but not NVR

The easiest way to connect Hikvision cameras to a Hikvision NVR is to reset the camera to an 'inactive' state, then connect the camera to an NVR PoE port that's in Plug&Play mode. The NVR will 'activate' the camera and connect it automatically.

That's an RS-485 adaptor. For the serial console, you'll need a TTL serial adaptor, such as a PL2303TA-based one.

Did you buy a 'USB to TTL serial' adaptor? The 4-pin connector that you tried is most likely the serial UART.

Hikvision NVR resets IP-camera login credentials

I'd speculate - without any evidence to back it up - that the Reolink doorbell itself is implicated in changing the password the NVR is configured to use for it. Hikvision have not used admin/12345 for many years, they moved away from default credentials quite a while back. The ONVIF standard...
