I was planning on installing Bullet/Turret cameras outside - since these are the recommended ones for exterior walls, however, no hikvision Easy IP 3.0 bullet/turret camera has audio interface to connect a mic. I find it really odd that only Domes have the audio/alarm interface. Is there a...
If you're using HIkvision Cameras and NVR and they are communicating via Hikvision Protocol (not sure about others) then NVR will copy its settings to camera on reboot. I was experiencing same issue, and then decided to set camera schedule etc in NVR. Its been working fine since then.
Are turrets as good as bullets for mounting on walls? I checked with local shops but no one has turret - because there is no demand for those locally, most people just go with bullet. I do see some on aliexpress though, any reliable sellers there?
Actually, I'm only using two domes. One next to the entrance door and other outside the garage (under the eave). The main reason for wanting domes is aesthetics, since I hate the look of bullet cameras. In other conspicuous areas, I'm using bullet cameras.
Also, the areas where I'm planning on...
Was planning on getting regular 4MP domes but found out that Mini-Domes have built-in microphones - which is something I want. So wondering if there are performance differences between Dome and Mini-Dome? or any quirks specific to mini-domes?
Yes, tried on all ports.
unplugging means removing power plug, wait a few seconds and then plug it back in. I have to do this because when the mouse isn't working there is no way to properly shutdown the NVR.
I got the nvr brand new from Hikvision official store couple of weeks ago. Since day 2, I've noticed the mouse stops working (cursor disappears). It usually happens after I haven't interacted with the NVR for few hours (e.g. overnight). When it happens, the mouse laser light is on (indicating...
so even a 3MP Darkfighter is better than 5MP...if night vision is concerned?
A bit more info...I need two cameras facing the front of the house/street and my current 4MP (2043G0) gets grainy at night and its hard to make out faces clearly - tried adjusting settings. so I'm wondering if its...
Is there a huge difference between sensor image quality between 1, 2 and 2plus lines? I went to the local Hikvision shop/distributor and asked for a 3MP Dome camera for indoor use (no need for night vision). The cheapest one was 1-line, he said for the same price I can have 1.3MP 2-line, and...
Unfortunately the local Dahua shop didn't have any good starlight cameras, as per mat200 the 2MP was and 4MP wasn't a starlight and even those were in Bullet shape only. I asked them why don't they import more starlight models and he said because those are expensive and most people here are...
Thanks for clarification, actually I was going by what a youtube reviewer said that its easy to move to it.
I went to the local Hikvision office but they didn't have turret, he said no one really buys it here so he just has one camera for display purposes. For now I got a 2043G0 bullet camera...
I've spent hours trying to figure out which cameras are good for low light/night color recording. On this forum, it looks like Starlight is the gold standard, however, looking at specs for Hikvision's EasyIP 3.0 2355 Turret (5MP), the lux ratings are nearly identical. Does that mean hikvision...
Hi, I'm new to home security camera scene from the research I've done. In Pakistan, we have two main brands Dahua and Hikvision, with Hikvision being more popular.
I really like the idea of Line Intrusion/Tripwire detection features in their cameras. Do these work well? Which brand has better...
How prone are Dome cameras to dust? Its kind of dusty here in Pakistan, wondering how often it'll require cleaning vs Turret or Bullet.
The place outside where I'm planing on mounting the dome has a 4-5" garage ceiling extending ahead, would that be enough to prevent rain directly falling on...
Great write up..can you help me with my decision. I'm deciding between Easy IP 3.0 cameras and really would like ultra-low light performance (color night vision). In Datasheets, 2135, 2145 and 2155 have very similr specs...2155 has slightly higher lux requirement (0.008 vs 0.01). The sensor...
The version available here is 7616NI-K1 (and K2), the K1 seems to be more powerful than E(n) models and has identical specs to 7716: DS-7608/7616NI-K2 - Hangzhou Hikvision Digital Technology Co. Ltd.
Can anyone please confirm what the differences are between 7616 and 7716? I can't seem to find exact differences anywhere on hikvision's website. I plan to connect six 4MP or 5MP hikvision cameras with the nvr.
Also, I heard that POE version of these NVRs are noisy (due to power supply cooling...
