    4TB Hard drive $100 at Fry's

Anytime you can get down to around $25 per Terrabyte... it's a pretty good deal. Yeah, they're not WD Purples, but still... at least it's not a Seagate. Just my $.02. Jim

    Positioning

I have this concern as well... I have an existing camera on the far corner of my garage, pointing back at the house. Now I have another camera (ordered, but not yet installed) that I want to place in the exact opposite direction, so I can see the other doors: (Red camera existing, yellow...

    China tried to login

You know... I've got an oddball attempt to login to my Blue Iris also, a week ago or so (someone from San Diego). But what I find most interesting is that when I go the page in BI that shows this, I cannot "clear" this entry. All of my login attempts are logged, and if I hit "clear" they go...

    Dog Has a Mouthful

I stand corrected... Misunderstood, and befuddled. (that's what I get for giving them the benefit of the doubt). Faith in humanity is now back on edge.

    Dog Has a Mouthful

So... the dog unknowingly stole the ball. The dogs master, sent it back, at least in the general direction. This would explain the dogs visual disappointment in seeing it returned. This might just restore my faith in humanity. Or not. :peaceful:

    That's just wrong.

    Hey gang...

Been lurking (and posting a bit) for a few weeks, so I thought I'd at least introduce myself. Ex Silicon Valley independent consultant / CAD re-seller from back in the 80's. First computer was an IBM-AT 8MHz, 640k RAM, 30MB Hard Drive, 640x350 EGA Monochrome Monitor. $15,000.00 My how times...

Hard drive size and brand questions

Mine is in my Theatre/Studio, so sound isolation is important to me. Hence the adjustable fan speeds.

Hard drive size and brand questions

Understood. I've got 14 of these, individually mounted in the 5-1/4 drive bays. They are awesome.

Hard drive size and brand questions

I used to have 4 drives each, in two USB 3.0 external enclosures. It worked ok, but I decided to take everything internal and shift over to SATA III, so I sought out the case of my dreams. Lian Li 343B-XT It's not sold in the U.S. so I had to buy it in Norway and have it shipped over. I love...

Hard drive size and brand questions

If the Purple vs. Purple NV is anything like the Red's vs. Red Pro's, it might be that they have a better warranty too.

BlueIris 7 Second Freezes in Recordings

Just to elaborate... I'm not crashing, as others are... I just get the 5-7 second image glitches.

Hard drive size and brand questions

Each of my drives are independent volumes (no RAID or DrivePooling, etc...) on two separate SATA controllers. My case is huge, and each drive is in its own Hot Swap Drive Tray, and isolated from the others. Frankly, I don't see how any single drive even knows that the others are present. So...

Hard drive size and brand questions

Some feedback from my friends on the Plex Forum: WD Purple is optimised for continuous WRITES and not READS, (ie security camera's)... And further, from WD website: Engineered specifically for surveillance security systems. Reduced video frame loss. Tuned for write-intensive, low bit-rate...

BlueIris 7 Second Freezes in Recordings

I saw an earlier post about these settings. I'll give that a try. Already did that on all four Cams... still having issues.

Hard drive size and brand questions

I'm running 12 WD 3TB Reds (6 mirrored to 6 redundant) in my Plex Media Server, which is now doubling as my Blue Iris Server. I keep them all spinning 24/7, never had a glitch. I do think however that I'll slip a 3TB Purple in there just for the Camera stuff.

BlueIris 7 Second Freezes in Recordings

Following this thread closely. I too, have 5-7 second "freezes" during recording. Frustrating for a camera with such great image quality.

    Blue Iris and NVR questions

My problem seems to be getting 5-7 seconds of freeze... then video (recorded) continues. Not fluid at all. Not sure what is causing this.

Looking for Optimal BI4 Clips and archive settings

I'm just curious about your answer here. Why not write initially to the SSD (for sake of speed), perhaps to a limited amount of space, and then have the storage files moved to the Hard Drive? Just wondering. I have a 512GB SSD and only use 1/3 of it, so I was letting Blue Iris store files...

BlueIris 7 Second Freezes in Recordings

I have two of the ProHD Amcrest cameras, and I would swear I had the two way audio working once... now it doesn't. I'm keeping an eye on this thread. Jim

    Blue Iris and NVR questions

I've got four IP cameras on an intel i5 system that is also my Plex Media Server, and I'm only using 25% of CPU. I also think some optimization settings might be in order. I'm still learning about IP Cameras and Blue Iris, but I seem to have things under control. First thing I did was drop my...

Anybody know what this BI Error is?

This camera is an Amcrest IP2M-842 and is straight out of the box. No custom settings, zones, etc... Just wondering.

Anybody know what this BI Error is?

Just spotted this error in the log this morning and wondered if anyone could shed some light: Thanx in advance for your help.
