    HW decoding and supported CPUs

Thank you fenderman and bp2008. This may explain why my current setup maxes out the CPU on my Proliant - not only is it a VM but the Xeon CPU does not have graphics anyway (though I suspect one could pass the the adapter, if it was there, to the VM with Directed VT-d or somesuch). Where can I...

    HW decoding and supported CPUs

Many thanks for the clarification bp2008. I was going to set up an uber 8-core VM box to do all but I think building a small dedicated NVR and a lower powered VM box (I have an HP 54L Micro Server ready for this) is the way forward. Maybe the built-in Intel HD graphics will be supported in a...

    HW decoding and supported CPUs

I am also trying to figure out a replacement for my home power-hog as posted elsewhere in this forum. Having read through this thread I was wondering if I could use the brand-new Core-i7-6700 I have sitting on a shelf (abandoned project) instead of your recommended i5-4590? I see from the Intel...

Is a 2Ghz 8-Core CPU enough for Blue Iris?

Hi guys, I am looking to replace HP Proliant ML310e Xeon power-hogging noise-machine with something quieter. It is running ESXi with a nas4free Linux server and a dedicated Win2k8 R2 server for Blue Iris. Three 5mp cameras. The Nas4Free server is for my home streaming (mild) use. It all works...

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

peraburek what I discovered in my attempts to "unbrick" my camera is that you can't really make things worse by trying different firmware images. You will not brick it worse. It will either work or not and you get to try again. The version that worked for me as I said is the one provided...

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

For the flashing side, when you download the compressed zip file mentioned in the sticky above you will get a complete set of files including digicap 5.2.5 and the utility to perform the tftp firmware write. Just extract the files into a single folder and run the tftp server utility. So long as...

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

there are some very good posts on that subject in this forum I found by searching. The most common way is to use ftp. You will need to use a utility like "putty" to connect to the camera via "telnet" and issue "put" commands to an ftp server on your network. As I say there are well documented...

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

Hi there, I used the version which is available in the sticky of this forum called "Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English" by "whoslooking". As mentioned I waited a full 10 minutes after the upgrade was "completed" and then did a physical power reboot.

Cannot add nas4free NFS share - syntax problem?

Now that is way beyond my scope :)

Cannot add nas4free NFS share - syntax problem?

OK I solved it....one needs to put the path in like this: mnt/Mount1Vol1/VideoCam That first "/" is what causes the problem...

Cannot add nas4free NFS share - syntax problem?

Thank you for responding so quickly. Yes that is how I am trying to add it - from the GUI: Advanced>Storage>NAS Yes i have allowed the entire /24 network. I tried a CIFS share but that also fails - probably authentication as I allow anonymous access, though I even tried setting CIFS to "local...

Cannot add nas4free NFS share - syntax problem?

Having happily recovered my bricked DS-2CD2032-I I am now trying to get it to store recordings on my nas4free NAS box (based on FreeBSD). I am running nas4free v9.2 When i try to add the NAS server it keeps failing. I am guessing it is a syntax problem though I have tried every conceivable...

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

Ok i got it to work. I tried the 5.2.5 firmware once again, waited 10 minutes, power-off-on and it came up! Thanks for the help and a hugely resourceful website.

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

I figured the solution would be to find a chinese firmware version (despite the fact mine was in english) and then do the well-described hack into english. Does anyone know where I can get a chinese flavoured firmware version?

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

Thank you! No joy on port 80 either. I just tried the "Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English" by whoslooking but that yields the same result..naddah...I see that i should have my "original mtd5 & mtd6 files" I guess...

    Bricked DS-2CD2032-I

I purchased a DS-2CD2032-I from Amazon (supplied by CCTV System) not doing my homework and received a "Chinese" unit. It seemed to wok fine however and all the menu's were in English. Being even more stupid I headed over to the Hikvision website, downloaded the latest firmware (v5.3.0_150513)...
