    i noticed my recordings on my cameras seem to be streaking really bad. my server is @ ~ 25% right now since i am only running a portion of my cameras. i set the cameras (on camera interface) to 1920*1080 @ 25fps and allowing max br of 16Mbps. i ripped an example off of my iPad to post here...

    i think you are on to something. if i turn OFF direct to disk, it seems to work consistently. when it is ON, it won't record. i may have missed that as i was setting it up. of course this hurts bad as i am already fighting 100% CPU issues on this box too. ugh...

    direct to disk. after i said they wouldn't record three cameras did. others still won't. i noticed all my folders show Read only in explorer. i uncheck the box and apply but it doesn't change when i go back and look. odd because the db folder shows the same but it is updating the db. not...

    same thing. moved to local drive, rebuilt database (did not move files) so clips were blank as expected. did a manual record and clip shows with 0 seconds. cannot play file, new folder is empty.

    sigh... i just realized what happened. when i rebuilt the database it dropped everything AFTER i installed the service. i had clips as late as 3pm and when i click on them it cannot open them. i rebuilt and the last clip was 2pm timeframe. that is what i saw but was busy and did not notice...

    ok this is odd. so i reinstalled windows completely - wiped disk, new install of BI. setup cameras, installed service and it did the same thing. even used a local account. it had been recording although it was off an on and hard to determine what exactly the issue was. it gave me problems...

    that definitely dropped it. now CPU is running around 25% with console up. with just service running it is around 10-15%. i noticed my NIC only negotiated to 100Mbps. i may see if i can max out MTU on cameras and get NIC on PC right to help relieve the CPU on I/O. any other ideas is...
