New Home CCTV and Home Network Install

Yeah I did this to. I left about 1 meter out the brush plates then cut them to size after I put the switch cabinet up. But still left slack in the roof attic so I can cable tie them together and up on some joists. I also plan to put a pull down ladder in the garage and put MDF boards up there...

New Home CCTV and Home Network Install

Hey guys Moved into a new home earlier this year so of course a priority project of mine was to install CCTV and setup some cat6 cabling throughout the house for computers and home entertainment I did all the wiring myself. I learned how to terminate cat6 just off youtube and a bit of practice...

1Gbps beneficial for RDP to BI live feed?

Hey guys Another quirk I noticed I might need to change hardware around I currently have a PC running BI with 8 cameras: 1 x 6mp 1 x 8mp 6 x 4mp all running at 15fps Everything is hardwired from cat6 solid core cabling to a switch with 1Gbps ports The PC running BI is also running a gigbit...

Would a 1Gb/s NIC be recommended for live view to Blue IRIS ?

Hey guys Just completed my 8 camera setup with blue iris 4 x 4MP cams 1 x 8MP cam 1 x 6MP cam all at 15 fps ( would ideally want 20 at least later when I upgrade my computer) anyway I have a laptop in the kitchen hooked to a monitor and RDP to the PC thats running BI to display the 8 camera...

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

I meant if you disabled 10 of your cameras and just have 10 running what your stats were? As it would give me a rough idea what to expect if I got the same cpu my cpu is handling it. Id say just. I have already optimized it and although I got the CPU down to 20-30% with all cameras live...

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

Thanks. checking it out. Will pick a decent one thats affordable and wait for a deal from ebay. Will have to buy another mobo to though Intel supports quick sync right so it should perform better for video live streaming. But right now AMD's are kicking ass through raw core performance. I built...

Is there a way to match the camera layout here ?

Hey guys I am trying to use UI3 to have it display 24/7 on a monitor This is probably or should be a simple thing but I cannot work out why the layout wont match the console's UI I have made a group and arranged the console UI like this and want it to look like this in full screen mode and...

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

your tempting me to upgrade it would be nice to have all 8 cameras running at high res and a smooth fps during live feed. AMDs are pretty strong and cheaper at the moment. Unsure how BI goes with AMD Ryzen CPUs compared to Intel i9 and i7s though I also run plex media server on this box but...

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

I turned off ALL limit decoding when required on all my cameras it runs the cpu at a higher rate. Mind you it goes up and down between 40 and 60% now Also originally I was viewing the cameras using UI3 web interface which originally increased the cpu usage

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

Thanks Yeh did that, It naturally decreases but I was able get the cpu down to like 20% with all cameras running using limit decoding when required but this degraded the performance of live viewing severely there was like 5 second delay on each motion and the fps was like 1 fps I disabled limit...

Whats the simpliest or easiest way to have a 20m CCTV LCD Monitor in house?

Yeh You know what. I am totally over thinking this . I have an old laptop and will just use that to RDP. I have tested RDPing into the PC with BI running and the CPU is around 30% I think using a laptop or maybe eventually get a cheap Rasp pi 4 will be more versatile due to having USB ports...

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

Single channel Fenderman. I might just buy 1 extra ram module and turn it into dual channel to see It would not be an expensive thing to do Well originally having the BI UI running was overloading the CPU. But having said that since I made some adjustments and put limit decoding on each...

    Should I upgrade my CPU?

Ok so I have read the wiki section about the limit decoding and disabled this option in the All Cameras group: I also went into each camera's config and make the i-frame level equal to the frame rate of each camera (15fps) I gave my PC a reboot also. When accessing the web interface from...

Have I killed these 2 IP cams?

Sorry for the late reply. I have since resolved the issue. THe issue was the cable on the camera end had a dodgy connector. It would work sometimes and if you move it, it would disconnect I have fixed it and I am running the Dahua spare IP camera but my Hikvision dome is still not turning on...

Have I killed these 2 IP cams?

I managed to get the spare camera going. I re-crimped the cable . I climbed in the attic and unplugged and plugged it back in. Noticed it was very hard to push in and clip on. Then the cable tester skipped some pairs intermittently. So the RJ45 plug was a bit flakey but gave me all 8 lights at...
