    Profile Not Changing Presets

Update 4.5.3.2 has already been posted in this thread: Locked out of webserver (Connection not private) after latest update? By the way, its a good idea to keep a local archive of updates - especially the ones that you have found to be stable. I'm a little reluctant to pull the trigger on...

    Profile Not Changing Presets

The PTZ Preset problem is still not fixed in 4.5.3.5. I have been reverting back to the last stable version (4.5.3.2) until tis problem is resolved.

Missing Frames Immediately Following Motion Trigger - Solved

I have been tryin for a few days to track down the cause of missing frames immediately following motion detection trigger. I tried several recommendations that I found on this site for similar problems, but nothing seemed to help. I finally found a discrepancy in how my Clips and Archiving was...

    BI missing motion many times

Dave, I started having similar problems with one of my cameras after BI motion detection was improved awhile back (can't remember which version). This particular camera sits alongside a portion of my driveway. The camera would capture a FedEx truck leaving, which it had completely missed when...

    4.5.1 - February 13, 2017

Not sure if this relates to your problem, but I noticed that my cameras weren't switching from day to night. I think this happened with 4.5.1.1. In Camera Properties\Schedule\Event Schedule, I found that the function had been cleared in the "Edit camera control event" window. I had to...

    Hikvision Temperature Overlay App

You are correct in your assumption. I manually start the app each time I restart my machine. I keep the app window hidden. Ctrl+h toggles show/hide.

Yeah, you need some more IR.

    Hikvision Dedicated License Plate Reading

Just for kicks before you give up on your 6mm bullet, I would try exposure at 1/500 and 1/1000. Obviously everything will appear much darker in the image generally, but you may find that the plates are more readable at those exposures. I'm not an expert, but it looked like the plate IR...

    Hikvision Temperature Overlay App

The Temperature Overlay app retrieves temperature information from the internet (Weather Underground) and writes it to your Hikvision camera's Text Overlay. So, yes, it will work with an NVR since it is superimposed on the camera video.

Venturis, I reposted with an attachment that includes source code.

I am still using the app. PingoBags (the creator) seems to have dropped off the map.

    Motion Pixelization (green blocks)

I'm not sure I understand your problem, but it sounds like you are describing object rectangle highlighting that is an optional feature in Blue Iris. It is usually turned on to help troubleshoot and fine tune motion detection. I leave this feature turned on all the time since I am recording...

    Hikvision Outdoor Mounting

The "WD" in the model numbers you are referencing indicates the camera has 120 db Wide Dynamic Range. This should be a good and valuable feature, but I have a DS-2CD2T42WD-18 and it is pretty much worthless in that camera. I don't even use it. I can't really say how well Wide Dynamic Range...

    Hikvision Outdoor Mounting

James, I think you're on the right track for mounting. However, based on recent experience, I think I would not choose the dome type camera. The Hikvision Turrets mount and aim similarly, but they are not subject to some of the disadvantages of the domes (e.g. IR reflection). Also the EXIR...

    Masking object in BI 4.0

It looks like you've properly eliminated the object from motion detection. Depending on how much the wind moves the ornament, you may need to increase the size of your non-detect area. Also, you will have to do this in all of your profiles if you are using multiple profiles.

Unable to Run a Script from Camera Alert

Solved: I emailed Blue Iris support. Ken suggested that I try running a simpler batch script on the camera Alert configuration. I tried running a script that executed the XCOPY command. It worked. The script that didn't work incorporated a couple of programs (sleep.exe and callurl.exe) that...

Unable to Run a Script from Camera Alert

Thanks logbuilder. I tried the "Request from a web service" option you mention. It works, but it is only a workaround, since I have other more complex scripts that I can't duplicate as a url call. I am still trying to figure out why I can't run a script.

Unable to Run a Script from Camera Alert

I just upgraded from BI3 to BI 4 on a Windows 10 machine. I was having no trouble running a script from the camera alert configuration in BI 3. After upgrading to BI 4, the script is no longer activated when the camera is triggered. I have tried using the "Test" button from the "Configure Run...

    Hikvision Night Footage

I have a DS-2CD2T42WD-I8 with 6mm lens. Nighttime images are ok, but the range seems to be limited to about 20m without supplemental lighting. The camera's IR actually reaches out farther than that, but image clarity drops off significantly past 20m. (Actually, I think the image quality...

    First time build

https://www.fastercables.com/bulk-ethernet-cable/outdoor It looks like you're opting for direct burial or maybe just UV rated cable. Try this link for some options with pure copper conductors.

    First time build

enilm, Please be aware that the conductors in the Cat5e cable you are considering are Copper Clad Aluminum(CCA). For POE service, you should stick with cable that has pure copper conductors. It will cost more than the cable you have spec'd, but it will perform more reliably in POE service.

Clearing Blue Iris Status Connections Log

I have been curious for some time now about the Connections tab on the Blue Iris Stats window (you get to it by pressing the Graph toolbar icon). This view has a "Clear" button, but it only seems to clear connections with no Object. The connections that have an Object of "login" do not get...

Camera Event Scheduler to Run Program or Execute Script

Now I get it. Your idea would result in a more robust solution because it would trigger camera settings by actual light level instead of time. (Light levels at dusk and dawn vary considerably depending on atmospheric conditions.) The problem is that I don't know where the ambient light sensor...

Camera Event Scheduler to Run Program or Execute Script

aster1x, the operating mode (day or night) is part of the image settings. See the IrcutFilter section of the xml extract below. The operating day/night mode is referred to as "IrcutFilterType." The choices are Day, Night, Auto, and Scheduled-Switch. <IrcutFilter...

    Different Day/Night parameter sets (DS-2CD2142FWD-I)

Chris, you may have to look outside of the camera to accomplish what you desire. I have created batch scripts to modify my day and night image settings on my Hiks. I use Blue Iris to execute the scripts automatically at dawn and dusk. Check out this thread...

NAS Storage Full, cameras stop recording...

I'm not sure if this will be helpful, but I found firmware version 5.3.8 build 160126. On the hikvisioneurope website it is listed as "V5.3.8(Temp,repair NAS)". There are no release notes, so I'm not sure what the NAS repair references. I am currently running this firmware on a XC-2T42WDI8...

New firmware Hikvision V5.3.8 Build 151224

I am unable to use Chrome for live view with V5.3.8 Build 151224. Also, I still haven't seen the release notes for this version/build. I'm not really sure what was changed or improved with this version. I did the upgrade, but haven't discovered any benefits.

New firmware Hikvision V5.3.8 Build 151224

I downloaded 5.3.8 today and upgraded my 2T42WDI8. The upgrade went flawlessly, but I am disappointed that this firmware didn't help with the instability of the NAS storage feature.

    Motion blur - ghosting

I ran into the same problem with my 4MP. It is located very close to my driveway to capture license plates as traffic comes and goes. Being this close to the vehicles as they pass by, makes the ghosting problem very obvious. I actually set my DNR at 10 which completely eliminates the ghosting.
