Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

I did pull down other software thinking the same, haven't tried it yet. The putty output isn't continuous, it flows, stops, flows a bit more and stops. I can repeat it with the manual reset button so to me it's prob the right output, just the wrong language. I've seen this with my Cisco...

Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

I connected black/ground to the square location but I'm still getting the same garbled output.

Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

I'll give that a try. The circuit board does appear to be suspended in the metal housing but I don't know if or where any contact points are that would allow grounding between the two.

Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

The articles I read all pointed to a 4 pin setup like you mentioned but at a brief glance with it disassembled I didn't notice anything else. How likely is it that there are multiple points on the board that would give output? Will search again when I get back to my testing bench.

Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

I was working on that. the ports for this camera are as the picture shows. I tested all three and found the middle as output, I figure the left is input but with the garbled output I'm seeing on putty, I don't get any response with a keypress. I tried putting the Tx on the right but didn't...

Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

I had wondered the same. I have it grounded to the metal base plate. Made sure it was grounding as when I disconnected it the screen readout stopped.

Dahua HBD3200 unbricking - putty jumble

Not sure where the text went, so here it is again. Hoping someone can provide insight. Trying to use a TTL adapter to access the console of a HBD3200 unit to restore a working firmware image. I'ts an armorview unit from amazon Amazon.com: Armorview PL2303HX USB To TTL To UART RS232 COM Cable...

    any possibility of reviving?

Happened upon a great auction for a brand new HK 2142 cam. Or so I thought... Still can't figure out how a detailed listing of 2142FWD cam from a mom and pop shop but the item, still nice and shiny in a box was a 3132F-IW unit. Anyway, I plugged it in to my Cisco PoE switch and nothing. The...

HK recording on milestone - distorted image, can view live fine

I was reading a note on that, seems to help in some situations. Maybe the issue with SVC being the troublemaker here vs my other cams boils down to the way svc was defined in firmware.

HK recording on milestone - distorted image, can view live fine

think I got it down. SVC. I did a factory reset, and slowly put settings back on. The only one I hadn't re-enabled was SVC. Auto causes issues, trying it with just on and I'll see what happens. any thoughts though on why SVC would cause this? I have SVC enabled on other cams and have never...

HK recording on milestone - distorted image, can view live fine

I also just tried to wipe out the camera and add it back in as an ONIF device, not using the hikvision driver. Same thing. This was an ebay purchase, supposedly an excess item from an install. So I don't have much time if I'm going to report this as a defective unit and return it to the seller.

HK recording on milestone - distorted image, can view live fine

Went back over recordings since this last post and have seen no change. Oddly enough I was looking at the milestone app on my iPhone and I can't see any distortion. Although the iPhone only seems to replay at 10fps. I'm starting to wonder if this is more aimed at the video stream coming from...

HK recording on milestone - distorted image, can view live fine

Just got in a HK 3345 turret cam. Initial tests put up a good image, no problems. What I'm running into is when milestone is trying to record, the image goes beserk. I've let milestone handle the motion detection but then changed it to built in camera events. no change. tried putting the...
