    I need help

Looks like you need a Phd in something to use Dahua cameras lol. I have discovered how to get rid of the download certificate by watching a youtube. Now one of my cameras shows > confirm cancel in the middle of the screen. Any idea how to get rid of that? Also my cameras are varifocal, and...

    I need help

I have a Dahua XVR5108HS-i3, and 8 cameras. Before I installed I tested the web interface, and got screen with 8 cameras when I clicked on Live. Now I have the whole thing installed, open the web interface, and see a screen with 4 cameras, which all 4 show a black screen with the text download...

    Link DMSS to XVR

It's about $30 a month, but for other reasons, like IP's that get blacklisted, I prefer not to have a static IP. They gave me one for free a few years ago, and I asked them to switch it off. P2P method works fine, only wanted to know if there are security issues

    Shut down Dahua XVR

I only see 1 fan in my XVR, so don't know which function it has, but it keeps running. I have external power supply In the online manual I notice that previous models of the XVR had a power switch .

    Link DMSS to XVR

Not only that, but I guess if using that method have to sign up with a DDNS service as well, because I have dynamic IP which changes every 24 hours

    Shut down Dahua XVR

I'm aware of that, but I actually want the fan stop running without the need to unplug the power

    Shut down Dahua XVR

I have the DH-XVR5108HS-I3, which has no physical power button. When I select shutdown from the menu, the device shuts down, but the fan keeps running. Any way to sort that? Another question I have is, can I prevent from automatic logout, so that whenever I connect over the web interface...

    Link DMSS to XVR

I have my Dahua DMSS app linked to my XVR using the P2P method, as I'm too dumb to setup a reliable free DDNS. Is using the P2P method safe, or should I really opt for the DDNS method, and if so, which service do you suggest? Cheers

I must be doing something wrong......well I'm sure I am

Thanks guys, I understood HD as high definition resolution, so will install the HDD

I must be doing something wrong......well I'm sure I am

Yes you are right. When I connected the XVR to the internet, the camera showed instantly, and the setup process as well, so I now have them working. The beeping still continues. What you mean with there is no HD, as the cameras are 2mp, 1080p? How do I fix that?

Don't know how the link ended up in the OP, as I didn't link anything. These are the baluns I use

I must be doing something wrong......well I'm sure I am

Aren't baluns designed for analog cameras only? If there is the green and yellow light, I assume they are there for a reason. Unfortunately no monitor with VGA connection

Yes first time I power up, no HDD attached yet

I must be doing something wrong......well I'm sure I am

I have the Dahua XVR 5108HS-I3. My cameras are DH-HAC-HFW2221R-Z-IRE6. I want to test my cameras, so I just power up the XVR and connect it by HDMI to my TV. The TV sees something is connected to the HDMI port. Next I connect one balun to the XVR and another balun to the camera, put a Cat5e...

    Viewing angle

I live in Thailand, if you want to see the face of someone who walks with their head down, the cameras have to be 1.50 meter lol

    Viewing angle

I read an installation tutorial posted somewhere on here, which said, cameras should not be higher than 2.10 meter, if you want to see faces. My ceilings are 2.90 meter high, so I let a steelworker make me 70 cm long brackets, but to be honest it looks stupid. When I use the lens calculator...

    Safe way for recordings

I just stumbled on a website, which wrote the below. Since I have analogue cameras, I would like to know if this is correct, and if so, if I actually should bother with the fine-tuning. Analogue cameras have overall lower quality than IP cameras, but perform better in low light conditions...

    Safe way for recordings

Thanks for the detailed explanation, it will take me some time to consume all of it. So I understand I can apply different setting for day and for night time. Can all this be done in the XVR settings, or do I need a special software for it?

    Safe way for recordings

Thanks again. What would be the advised shutter speed for my cameras dh-hac-hfw2221rp-z-ire6 ?

    Safe way for recordings

Do my cameras have the right shutter speed, or can this be adjusted?

    Safe way for recordings

I am a bit lost here when you say 30 fps will be a waste, but 15 Fps get clean shots. Can you advise on that please? These are my cameras dh-hac-hfw2221rp-z-ire6. How to set them up the correct way please

    Safe way for recordings

I have 500 Mbps unlimited upload, so bandwidth would not be an issue. Any suggestions on a free reliable option, and how much storage I would need per each 24 hours, with 7 cameras 1080p recording in 30Fps?

    Safe way for recordings

Because there are a few threads on this forum that advise against it Is this a known fact that SSD's fail quickly? I would have thought that an SSD would be more reliable than a HDD, because no moving parts. I have several 2TB Western Digital Green lying around. Would that be a better choice...

    BNC male > female cable

I notice that all cameras, including the Dahua's I own, and all Balun's have 50 Ohm connectors. Why is that? I would have expected that at least a reputable company like Dahua would use 75 Ohm connectors.

    BNC male > female cable

Ok so I understand it is more based on personal reasons. I don't have all those tools, and although it will be doable, the male/female coax is easier to obtain. Can I ask you, the cable I linked is IMO 50 Ohm instead of 75 Ohm as claimed in the listing. Will that affect the quality of the...

    BNC male > female cable

Any special reason why you would use that, when male/female coaxial is available? Thanks
  27. B

    BNC male > female cable

No it is to connect the camera to the Balun. I use a 50cm bracket to hang the camera, and cables are supposed to be hidden inside. I just notice that in my listing is quoted 75 ohm, but they use 50 ohm coaxial lol

    BNC male > female cable

I need to buy 50 cm long BNC male > female cables to extend the BNC connection between balun and camera. All I can find are coaxial ones, while obviously the one at camera and balun end are not coax. Can I use them?
