Yeah, the desktop application has always had the plate numbers. With this release the mobile app got the number as well. Screenshot attached.

I painted the enclosure to match the siding. I would highly recommend doing this as the camera blends in really well from a distance, but once someone gets to the porch they notice it and try to figure out what it is. Which means I get great snapshots of faces! I am working on the night time...

    Solar Powered IR Illuminator

Yeah, doable vs realistic. In my mind the idea was this small IR light with a small solar panel that would attach to the mailbox. In reality it sounds like it would be much bigger. Also, I conveniently overlooked some sort of battery to store the power. Honestly, it would look nicer to just...

FWIW, I replaced my WiFi doorbell camera with the IPC-E3541F-AS-M. As anyone would expect, comparing a WiFi camera to a wired camera leaves no comparison. Wired wins big time every time. I am really happy with the day and night time video. At night I leave it on forced color.

Good points. I guess I’ll scratch that idea for now.

    Solar Powered IR Illuminator

I am considering adding a small IR Illuminator at my mailbox to help add some additional light. Has anyone run into a way to power them from a solar battery?

Camera Status Red Text (No Signal) When Hardware Accelerated Decode is On But Only At Night

I just bought a new LPR camera (IPC-HFW5241E-Z12E), which I got installed a few days ago. All my cameras are set to are set to "Intel" for Hardware accelerated decode. With the Z12E, during the day it acts fine with these settings. At night, I noticed that there is a yellow icon at the top...

Will Lowering a 4K Camera to 2MP Help Night Time Videos?

I am planning on moving it to another location with a much better light source hopefully this week. It currently is in a good spot for my new LPR camera I pick up from Andy during his Black Friday Sale :)

Will Lowering a 4K Camera to 2MP Help Night Time Videos?

I have a 4K camera that I use for an overview of my yard. As the Cliff Notes clearly spell out multiple times, the night time video is very poor when compared to my Dahua 2 MP Starlight cameras. The specifications say this 4K camera has a 1/2.3″ sensor. That left me wondering if lowering the...

    Morning Neighborhood Car Thieves

Thanks for your input, it is appreciated. The shutter speed is currently 1/30. Are you thinking 1/60 or 1/120 would have been better? Is B&W better than Color for night? I agree with it mounted too high, I think it's currently at 8-8.5 feet. Originally, I was using this camera to capture footage...

    Morning Neighborhood Car Thieves

I know right. I sent the videos to the police, in the event it might help. The officer said that this year alone 35 cars have been stolen. That doesn't include the cars that were left open where items were taken including multiple firearms... Who leaves a firearm in an unlocked car? It's no...

    Morning Neighborhood Car Thieves

Car checkers have been a very frequent for the past year. Lots of cars in my surrounding area have been rummaged through (if unlocked) and stolen (if the keys were left in car :banghead: ) this year. These videos were taken a few days ago. In regards to the Driveway camera, what are your...

    Front door ID camera IPC-HDBW4231F?

Wanted to follow up and thank you again for your help. The shutter priority setting plus BLC seems to be a great combination for capturing a snapshot of a face on my porch. As you noted, BLC is not as good if the person is further out in the light but the purpose of this camera is for a good ID...

    Front door ID camera IPC-HDBW4231F?

I had not tried changing the exposure yet. I will try that out and see what happens, thanks for the tip. I did just test changing from WDR to BLC and with BLC the front does look brighter but as you mention the background gets washed out a bit. I'll have to test that out later as well. Out of...

    Front door ID camera IPC-HDBW4231F?

I finally got a chance to install a camera at the front door at 5' height. I noticed on bright days when a person walks on the porch, the face gets dark. I turned on WDR and that seems to help if the person is moving slowly. I noticed that the camera attempts to locate the dark spot by using a...

    Lagging Video in BI

I was able to figure out what was going one with the help from one of @SouthernYankee comments. He noticed that the CPU and memory seemed pretty high for what it was. I just recently bought a new to me computer from eBay so I took a deeper look at everything. As I was researching the Dell...

    Lagging Video in BI

1 & 2) Makes sense, Corrected (attached screenshot) 3) That screenshot was taken via a RDP session as it is a headless machine. I attached a monitor and took another although it still is around 40% CPU. 5) Updated all my cameras so that the Iframes matches the frame rate. The door bell camera...

    Lagging Video in BI

    1. h.264 - (side question, are we able to switch to h.265, I thought I read we could if the CPU is newer?) 2. Not that I am aware of, see screenshots of each camera. I labeled each in case that helps. 3. Attached (I think this is what you are wanting, let me know if I took the wrong screenshots)...

Thanks for the reply Fenderman. The BI PC is on the same switch as 6 of the 8 cameras. The switch is a managed UniFi 60W switch. Could the switch be the issue?

    Lagging Video in BI

Hey, I have noticed that a few of my cameras internal timestamp is not matching the BI timestamp. If I log directly into the camera the timestamp is correct. If I compare that to BI the camera is about a minute behind. I have 2 cameras that are doing this, 1 - 8 MP and 1 - 5 MP camera. BI shows...

    Help ! wifi cameras

The only WiFi camera I use is for my door bell. I had to put a WiFi extender 3 feet away from the darn thing to even get it to stay mostly working. I get notifications every 2-3 days with the picture that is all blurry because it lost signal. At that point I have to restart the extender and WiFi...
