Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

I agree. I'm just trying to figure out, based on how the solar panel has been in the same location for almost 3.5 years, if it's much different from what it was before. It was always under the roof overhang, but still somehow received enough sunlight. I'm not sure, if after putting up the...

Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

Yes, so no one can look inside when I'm not home, and see a vacant living room.

Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

Thanks, I guess that's what I'll do. If there's one day where I see it doesn't open anymore (and it's not because the remote batteries are dead), then I'll have to try something else.

Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

Yes. I just realized there might be some confusion. I wasn't as clear in my OP. I have a Sunsetter drop-down shade (Easy Shade), not an awning. It goes over the sliding door. Costco Wholesale So my concern was that the solar panel which controls the dropping and raising of the shade...

Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

Do you think it's possible to reposition the solar panel? To another angle? You think something should be done though, right?

Ok, I tried the "Instant Replay" feature. On the live stream screen, it will replay up to the last 5 minutes, for that camera. I tried clicking that refresh button, but it didn't bring the camera that was in replay, back to live. It did nothing. The only way to bring the camera back to live...

Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

Thanks for the response. Extending the awning would block the solar panel for the sunsetter (left side of first pic) even more. I'm wondering if the solar panel could or should be re-positioned. Maybe lower? Or maybe there's a way to attach it to the awning, instead of being attached the way...

Did I just block my sunsetter solar shade with a gazebo?

I had the Sunsetter solar shade installed in 2015. I had the gazebo, on the right of the pic, installed a few days ago. Did I completely block the solar panel? Or is there there less light, but still sufficient light, to allow it to power? https://i.imgur.com/Jj6UkBa.jpg Here's a few from...

Glad you got it to work. What IVS configuration did you do (what type of rule)? How do you like the events that it's triggered? Do they match what you expect? Did it miss any?

I've never tried that. I'll try that. If I wanted to see something that wasn't live, I always went to the search area. I didn't know I could fast replay directly from the live stream, to see the last few minutes.

Maybe, but why would something live need to be refreshed? I see it when viewing live feeds.

No problem. When you can access your fancy VGA screen again, let me know if you see it, and what you think it's supposed to do.

Going back to the test I did yesterday, when I went to the side gate. And found out that the IVS was triggered after I'd already left the scene. When I re-watch the footage, but watch the time before the IVS is triggered, I see that face detection is triggered first. Then several seconds...

Hmm, good catch. It was off by 1 second. Ok, when I push it, a lock symbol appears. When I push it again, it disappears. I don't understand what the point is. Also, I noticed that the 7 other cam feeds are in sync with the NVR time. But then that time in the upper right corner is about...

Also, I asked this in another thread, but what do those two arrows, forming a circle, mean, next to the time? To the left of the time, when watching on the NVR. https://i.imgur.com/vS8A0NE.jpg

Thanks. After reading your post this morning, I tried a few more things. This time, for a camera, I deleted the IVS rules (instead of leaving them disabled). That didn't fix it. Then, I hit the default on the motion settings page, saved, then enabled it again, then saved. This time the...

Motion still doesn't seem to be working in the cameras where I had set IVS. I unchecked the lightbulb under Smart Plan, for each of those channels. I went back to Motion, and checked enable. I did everything except for actually delete the rules. I did go to each of the rules, and uncheck...

A few more notes I see: * IVS picked up a bird in the backyard. This is fine. * On another yard camera, wind set off IVS. This isn't better than motion. So far, I like it when IVS works, but the times where it doesn't work the way I intend (like when it missed me several times going to the...

I tried one more test. I went out to the side gate. It picked it up as an IVS event, but AFTER I had already left. Again, this isn't acceptable. Also, I see the front door picked up an IVS event that wasn't part of a test. A car crossed the boundary on the street. So this was fine. But...

I'm turning motion detection off now, and setting IVS. How does IVS handle a light going from off to on, or vice versa? With motion detection, it registers this as an event. Also, do you think this should be registered as an event (whether with motion detection, or IVS)? I am not sure, so...

Thanks. Should I keep both motion and IVS enabled, or only one? (24/7 for general recording will still be there). Where should I draw a line for the front doorway, so it doesn't pick up wind? https://i.imgur.com/vS8A0NE.jpg Why tripwire and not intrusion? Just so I understand.

Well I actually have a real one, in my Zoom H2N audio recorder. I wasn't sure how to read it, in this situation, though, because the max is at 0, and anything less is a negative dB. Perhaps I should take the difference from 0 then, instead of reading it from left to right. Or I can contact...

@bzcomputers, @bigoliver, any idea on why there's so much variation with the decibel apps? 3 different apps, 3 readings. There is about a 26-30 dB difference in readings across the 3 apps, for each distance that I tried. What can I do to get a more confident reading?

Can you give me some tips on how to set that up, or what settings to use? I think I'll keep my garage cam on motion detection, since there aren't outside environmental factors. For the other cameras, maybe I'll try IVS on a case by case basis. I'll probably start with the driveway and...

I also figured out now how to view the file info from the NVR interface. When in playback mode, you have to click on the icon with the rectangle with lines going across it. That kind of looks like a small piece of paper. It's the icon all the way on the lower right.
