    JBOD Disk Enclosure or NAS?

35 cameras, with potential to grow to about 50. Mostly 2K, a couple of dual 4k, a couple of 1080p. I would like about 8 x 20TB disks in a pool of some sort, presenting as a single drive to my computer. Computer is i9-12900k with 128gb ram and Intel 8 TB U.2 datacenter SSD for boot drive.

    JBOD Disk Enclosure or NAS?

I'm looking to add some external storage to my Blue Iris setup. A couple of options I am considering: https://www.terra-master.com/us/d6-320.html https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/TB38JBKIT0/#specs Would it make sense to do software raid / Windows Storage Spaces with the disks and go with...

Thanks so much. Doing it now. The part I had missed was the right click / context menu.

I hope the screen clips help. Happy to provide any more info needed to help diagnose.

    BI5 no longer recording clips

My BlueIris has not showed new clips in the program sidebar or UI3 since August 30, 2022. I saw another thread on a similar issue but didn't want to hijack. There is plenty of storage. I have cameras recording direct to disc on two hard drives. I am not recording to SSD and then...

    Got it, thank you.

Combine Storage Drives into Logical Volume?

Great. Got that done. Now, I'm sorry, this is probably obvious, but when I go into the settings panel in BI where can I add another "new" storage location? What I'm seeing appears to allow linking "new" with a single directory.

Combine Storage Drives into Logical Volume?

I read on the forum here to set the "Allocation Unit Size" to 1024 when setting up the hard drive? Is this better than "default"?

Combine Storage Drives into Logical Volume?

Ok, maybe I didn't completely understand the architecture. I thought that the DB and recent footage gets stored to SSD (NEW), then all the recordings get stored to STORED. Can I make a NEW directory on each spinner drive? I'm fine with the idea of recording some cameras to each disk. Gerald

Combine Storage Drives into Logical Volume?

Good evening. I am interested in combining 2 hard drives into a logical volume. 12TB WD Purple Pro and 18 TB WD Purple Pro. (my boot drive / "new" storage is Samsung 980 Pro SSD) I am aware that there is risk of losing all data if one drive fails. However, I haven't seen a way to store on...

rough boxes for install in new construction

That could work. Are there any boxes that use the 3 hole mounting pattern of the Dahua flange plate?

rough boxes for install in new construction

What kind of boxes can be used for install in new construction? Stud walls, sheetrock. We have some of the metal boxes, they work great for surface mount. Is there a plastic nail on type box that the Dahua camera flange plate can attach too? Gerald Martin

Not sure exactly which settings you mean. If PTZ ONVIF I did not find a specific camera listed like that. I haven't found any combination yet that lets me adjust the varifocal lens from the blue iris interface. Perhaps, though, I need to look at some real PTZ cameras for a few areas that we...

Had my brother in law on the phone, he was logged in to UI3 and watching video, I was on site at the camera, describing changes in the scene and he was getting about a half minute lag. It was pretty strange.

Ok, another newbie question. What would cause my live view to be delayed as much as 30 seconds when accessing from a remote network? And messages about CPU usage causing delay? Are there some transcoding settings that should be set differently or disabled - or turned on? Right now, I'm...

Ok - so I knew it could not pan or tilt - but I thought the zoom control would work from the blue iris interface? Perhaps I assumed incorrectly?

And, one other question: There is a fair amount of fisheye type distortion in the image, is there a setting in the camera firmware itself to adjust, or does Blue Iris offer any lens correction?

Ok folks, so I got a couple of the IPC-B5442E-ZE cameras, and bought Blue Iris. Have a camera connected and working fine. I have not been able to get the zoom (PTZ) control to work from inside Blue Iris though. What settings are important to make this work? I have it connected as an IP...

@EMPIRETECANDY is communicating with me directly on this. Currently looking at IPC-B5442E-ZE as a top contender. Low light, varifocal, 4 MP is a well rounded out feature set. Are there any other favorites I should consider? What about Hikvision options - or is Dahua the way to go?

Great help! I spent a couple of hours reading several long threads, especially about the Dahua 5442. I don't expect in my case I would want LED's illuminated, but there is some ambient light from parking lot lighting, night lights inside the building, etc. Will the 5442 series or the...

Hello all, We operate an automotive repair shop. We want to add inside and outside video surveillance for monitoring and remote access, day and night. Originally, I planned to use Ubiquiti gear - but am having pause over Ubiquiti's abandoning of their "Video" platform and not sure if...
