Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

The plan was to help people so I guess I'd rather play it safe than sorry. Given that the file *should* have been ok, and it seems it wasn't, there's an unknown factor there. Until it's known what it was I'll remove it and update the post accordingly.

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

I'm sorry to hear that. Perhaps there was a difference on your camera I've never seen before. I've not heard of anyone else having problems with the downgrader, only successes, but maybe I should remove the English version also just in case?

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

If power and network are OK (and there's no reason to suppose they are not) - that doesn't sound good You can try the TTL UART (not RS232) after all what have you got to lose at this stage. The Chinese file I posted was the same as the English one, except told to come up on 192.0.0.99 and...

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

I've no idea why that is - the Chinese file is just the English file tagged as Chinese so it will be accepted by Chinese cameras. It just has a pause because the files are English so it doesn't try to load on a Chinese camera. Also you seem to get results before that are inconsistant, implying...

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

Sometimes people make the mistake of rebooting the camera when it says file transfer complete (or similar) rather than waiting for device upgrade complete (or similar). But if you didn't, and you tried the correct version of the files I posted for the region of your camera, then I don't know...

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

The English 5.4.0 downgrader I posted is set to 1 , whereas the Chinese one I recently put up is set to 2 so there should be no need to alter them. Ping 192.0.0.99 is not required - but it is a handy indicator the firmware was accepted, has booted, wiped the version store and now is ready to...

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

OK when it says update completed, reboot the camera. It should respond on 192.0.0.99 to a ping once it's started and wiped the part of the camera that records what firmware was installed (max a minute or so). It won't go further than that into SADP, web etc and just sit there on 192.0.0.99 At...

Unbricking DS-2CD2432F-IW help, no luck with 5.30 downgrader

You might want to have another look at the thread I posted about 5.4.0 downgrader for 2xx2 2xx2 5.4.0 to 5.3.0 downgrader I uploaded a China tagged version that should be accepted by your camera, and it should wipe the part of the camera that thinks it should only accept 5.4.0 + The camera...

    Hikvision DS-2CD3XX5 Firmware

No. Besides the manufacturer doesn't make English firmware for this Chinese market only camera anyway. I know it's usually good practice to keep things up to date with the latest firmware but in the case of Hikvision cameras that's not always true - whether grey market or retail. Try to avoid...

    Hikvision DS-2CD3XX5 Firmware

Original 5.4.20 firmware below - TFTP it to your cameras and they will update. They will be Chinese though. IPC_G0_CN_STD_5.4.20_160726.zip Unless there is a real need I advise leaving them alone. The page you bought them from should have stated they should not be upgraded.

    HIKVISION- DS-2CD2035-I ( No video )

And video works on the other cameras in Internet Explorer? If they do and this 1 camera doesn't, and you've tried the reset to defaults web page button, then I wonder if the cable that connects the lens PCB to the main PCB has come loose during shipping. It's something you could check if you...

Hikvision FIRMWARE TOOLS - change language, extract files and create own firmware

I wonder if you might have changed the http port. For some reason this always causes the camera not to start properly once this is changed, doesn't matter what model, firmware version, hacked or original.

Smokin Deal on Hikvision DS-2cd2335-i 3MP - Mar 29th for $69.97 from a trusted vendor

Assuming the camera is English with English days of the week on the OSD, I think this is more likely a NVR firmware problem - too old? I don't actually use NVRs but I remember reading something about had to use newer NVR firmware to support the 2xx5 (G0) models. Or even that old NVR models...

Hikvision 4MP Firmware 5.40.20 doesn't exist formally yet LOL

You can only use TFTP as I said if you decide you want to change. I wouldn't recommend it though unless you really need to or don't care about the Chinese part.

Hikvision 4MP Firmware 5.40.20 doesn't exist formally yet LOL

lol you forgot storm Hikvision HQ with my special ops team! :P The real answer is a bit less impressive though - got it via a Chinese seller who got it from Hikvision Tech Support.

Hikvision 4MP Firmware 5.40.20 doesn't exist formally yet LOL

I managed to get hold of the original CN Hikvision 5.4.20 file you want yesterday :) IPC_G0_CN_STD_5.4.20_160726.zip You can just use TFTP (not in web page - search forum if not know how to use) and camera should upgrade. It will have Chinese menus/identity.

Hikvision 4MP Firmware 5.40.20 doesn't exist formally yet LOL

5.4.20 has been out for a while - my last one had it already on. There are no English versions of 2xx5/3xx5 firmware made by Hikvision so it will be hacked - hence the seller warning (which is quite good to see they do actually). China site doesn't put the firmware up very quickly usually - it...

Are my Hikvision cameras hacked chinese hardware or what?

Well all Hikvision cameras are Chinese hardware :) WR in the serial should mean camera was set in factory (in China) as World Region CH in the serial should mean set as Chinese region Silly Hikvision.

    Configuration via ssh / SQLite / ipc_db

ONVIF would be a good choice to configure the camera remotely without manually changing ipc_db or needing a Windows VM I assume there's a decent ONVIF app for linux and for mac.

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

That kind of dropout suggests camera is still rebooting. Especially if it's always the same amount of time the camera is down and subsequently up every time (30-40 seconds and 360 seconds). A wrong password shouldn't cause that. Is it possible your NVR is still talking to the camera and...

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

Yes if it reboots the .xml will automatically be invalid. Can you timestamp the pings? If you are losing only 10 seconds worth that is not enough for the camera to reboot so .xml should be valid. If on the other hand the camera disappears for like a minute then it's probably rebooting. You...

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

Yeah on some cameras there's a daemon called network_deamon Then it gets run (on my IPC_R6) with So it reboots if no data received for some time. I guess it's trying to be helpful in thinking there's something wrong so lets restart to fix. Your camera is IPC_G0 but the same principle...

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

Hmm.. looks like I'm wrong on that part then. A random number is included in the reset .xml file - but it's generated every time you export - even though it should only be set once per camera boot in my opinion. Or even more sensible the date should be used, and the reset code valid for 7...

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

Don't change the firmware for the cameras unless there's no other choice - it will not fix password issue and camera will be Chinese. If you do change it you might as well change the NVR to Chinese also so at least the devices will talk to each other (which they won't if one identifies as...

Custom Firmware Downgrader 5.3.0 Chinese to 5.2.5 English

I haven't read the whole thread and this might have already been covered. But just in case: 1) You can't restart your camera between creating the export.xml password reset, and feeding back the import.xml It won't be accepted if you do as the export.xml changes every restart. Leave camera...

    Bootloop DS-2CD2132F-I

If it's WR region I would TFTP latest firmware for this camera. It will both reset the configuration and also change the code used. Try a different power supply. Check camera has no loose cables inside. If it still fails I'm thinking faulty camera.

    Hikvision Permanent Region Change

As things stand it's a cosmetic change only but that's important to you sure it can be changed. I wouldn't like to see sellers do this though as it's misleading to customers who would see a WR and think they can upgrade without problems. I have both CH and WR cameras and it's helpful for me to...
