BlueIris network setup - Need some help

Defiantly make use of the Dual NIC setup as fenderman suggested. Makes things very safe and simple once you get it up and running.

Is Blue Iris through IP cam talk legit?

Unfounded. I discovered BI here and purchased from here. Lots and lots of people on here run BI and the support you’ll receive here is simply amazing. I can honestly say that if it weren’t for this place I’d likely screwed up big time when I began to set my system up. I owe a great debit to this...

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

So is this the firmware everyone is flashing to? DH_IPC-HX25(8)XX-Molec_MultiLang_PN_V2.800.0000000.15.R.200313

    Blue Iris UI3

Set according to your recommendations and still no dice. In UI3 I don't see any audio control at all. Downloaded the BI App and works fine there. I'll likely use it more anyway.

    Blue Iris UI3

I've got a Amcrest PT cam running in the house. I have audio on the BI server computer when I pull it up but when I open UI3 on my phone no audio. Have I got a setting wrong somewhere? BI is new to me and the learning curve has been a bit steep.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I’ll take a look to see if I can swap it over to unmanaged thanks. It’s way more switch than I need, and I don’t think looking at the specs it’ll hold up in the attic heat over time. I just happened to have it after renovating the phone and internet systems at our insurance office. I’ll probably...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Ok that’s what I thought, I am new to networking and thought i had the gist but wanted to be sure. Sounds like I really need to pick up a small poe switch for initial set up since the other will be in the attic.

Remote viewing on Android and IOS

Sorry I was a ball tournament all day and just saw your post. It took me a couple of power cycles to get my modem to take in bridge mode and get the wireless set to off in it but good to hear you got your running. VPN is on the list for tomorrow for me hopefully. So far I have been well pleased...

Remote viewing on Android and IOS

I’d say the big thing would be to get a router so you can get the openvpn set up then so you have a secure route in and aren’t port forwarding anything for access. Just as an FYI the asus ac66ub1 has dropped to 89.99 on prime from 99.99. Mine should be here tomorrow if ups does their part. Good...

Remote viewing on Android and IOS

I’m in the process of setting up as well and from my reading you are on the right path. Take a look at southernyankees thread in the dual nic setup. So far that is the easiest way that I’ve seen to physically separate the cameras from the web and a second nic card is only about $15. You’ll set...

    Asus AC66u vs AC68u

And no worries on the slight topic derail. I learned something new today. I had never really considered dual incoming services. I would imagine there are a number of settings that this is implemented just never had occurred to me.

    Asus AC66u vs AC68u

Man and I thought the internet we had at the office was bad. 5 computers, 5 voip phones and a nvr running on a converged 6 mb system. That’s almost golden compared to the setup you have to deal with. Thankfully for us we go to a 250/250 system on Thursday with fiber and do away with our...

    Asus AC66u vs AC68u

Based off your reply I went ahead with the AC66uB1. It should do everything I need it to do. It will defiantly be set up over the current arris modem router combo I have now. Finally on my way to getting the system set up, now to read through that dual NIC setup thread again!

    Asus AC66u vs AC68u

The B1 is what I have sitting in the cart right now and thought it might be a dual. Based on that any reason to drop more on the 68?

    Asus AC66u vs AC68u

Trying to decide which would best suit my needs. I know the built in processor is dual with the 68u over the single with the 66u. The 68 is currently $135 and the 66 is 89. I get around 500 mbps with our cable modem currently. Couple of phones, a computer, and 1 fire stick will be about the only...

Budget Dahua Cams or china alternatives under $100?

Well ya'll cost me some more money. Even if I don't use this one as a primary camera outside I'll still have it sitting around to play with and have it as a back up.

    BlueIris Hardware set up question

I am going to need to install a dual or a single NIC to run from the router(or switch behind the router depending on how the setup ends up) to run router to computer and then on to the POE switch for the cameras correct? Or will I be better off putting a 4 to 8 slot switch just past the router...

    BlueIris Hardware set up question

I have a couple of year old Lenovo Thinkcentre M73 computer that has a 4 core/4 thread i5 built into it. It currently has only 4 GB of memory onboard and am looking to increase that. It is running Windows 10 pro. I can max out at 16 GB, would I be better off maxing it out at 16 or just upgrade...
