BlueIris network setup - Need some help

Maybe this should be in the BlueIris forums, but my issue is about wiring

Total noob when it comes to the network setup and need some guidance
Here is the hardware I'm working with:
  1. BlueIris running on dedicated Win10 PC
  2. NETGEAR GS108PE-300NAS Gigabit Smart Managed Plus Switch
  3. Four Annke C800 Cameras
  4. Home network: Xfinity cable modem 10.0.0.1

The cameras connect to the Netgear router...I got that part figured on on my own LOL.
The router is dedicated to the cameras.
Do I connect the router direct to the BlueIris PC or the the cable modem?

If direct to the PC, do I need a second network connection on my ethernet only PC (perhaps add a wireless adapter) to connect to the home network?

The netgear is a switch not a router.
The blue iris pc will connect to the switch.
The switch will also connect to your router.

You can implement this technique to keep your cameras on a separate subnet. Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Wifi cameras are garbage. Wifi is not reliable for security and surveillance. If is ok for watching the bird feeder or the deer walking across the yard. Wifi can be jammed.

If that is your only option, then make sure you use that NIC to connect to your home LAN, not your camera LAN, in your case that would be the NIC #1 in the diagram below.

If your WIN10 is a regular PC get a “gigabit pcie network card” from someone reputable. If its a laptop, just know that’s not great long-term solution, but you can get a USB3 to gigabit adapter for that case.

Try to keep everything hardwired that you can, avoid wireless as much as possible.
