It is a smart event on supported cameras. Unfortunately the accusense line dropped this smart event and instead use a different (VCA?) mechanism.

Great feedback. simple events with emails like motion detection are working, just no clue why the face detection smart event won't. Assuming it is a bug specific to face smart events, I might have to look for another event I can use instead.

I'm the same, I need to have something that works, and so far the local support has been useless so I'm not sacrificing anything there. Having run this a little longer I'm still seeing zero smart event emails for face detection, which is not looking good.

Thanks, I'm not sure the smart event for face detection is working in the same way. I was getting an email alert, haven't seen one come through since the update but will test more.

I thought there would be a sticky about this or an FAQ, but I didn't spot one. I'm not impressed by the Hikvision reliability and support, but don't know if it is considered fine/reliable to mix camera brands with a Hikvision NVR?

I have a DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL that won't generate thumbnails attached to emailed face detection events, even though it once did. Some combination of the hikvision firmware updates seemed to have killed that capability. So with the requirement being for a camera that will support the face alert...

I'm running 4.50 and can't say it made any difference to the issues I'm having, reliability seems the same as earlier versions to me.

Just in case it helps my NVR didn't have some of the capabilities until they installed newer firmware. Which may be part of the problem, they are getting older hardware to do face processing when it doesn't really have the performance to do so reliably.

And just like that, randomly, both my cameras are operating at the same time. I guess an IP address expired or something. It doesn't fill me with confidence that they will work reliably.

Models too if you don't mind. I'm anticipaint the tech support team claiming it's impossible.
