I’ve tried scrolling through the wiki but can seem to find the answer- is a surge protector beneficial for an NVR with PoE cameras? The answer seems to be an obvious yes, but I’d like to hear from the experts.

What’s the best approach for installing cameras on barns and outbuildings when they are between 350-450 feet away from the house? Ideally, I would like to get around 4-5 down there. All cameras at the house will be hardwired with PoE if that influences the decision.
