Read somewhere that squirrels teeth can grow 10 inches a year. So they have to constantly gnaw,chew on stuff to keep them ground down. Had a cable on a tree once that they gnawed almost in half.

Might try holding the reset button down for at least a minute, or even till it beeps. I've had Dahua cams that wouldn't reset at less than a minute.

I've had 22 cams connected to my 5232-non poe- . Even at high bit rates the nvr can handle them fine as long as you use a gigabit switch.

I think aristobrat's explanation of low light specs is as good as it gets. One thing I might suggest is to just get one 2831t at first and try it out at different locations to see how it works before committing to all five. What looks like a lot of light to me and you, doesn't always translate...

Have you tried setting up the cam's ivs on the nvr? How are you viewing the nvr? directly or the web interface?

Under record set the sub stream1 to stop.

Right click the cam's live view>PTZ>zoom+or- .

Don't think it means anything. Mines(dif. model) been on for a year and it's worked fine. If I recall it went off when I formatted the drives and came back on when the drives filled up.

Just tried it on mine and it does keep the the right focus on presets when set to manual.
