Successfully updated 2x DS-2CD2332-I and 1x DS-2CD2532F-IS cams from China/English hacked v5.2.0 to 5.4.5 English. All 3 cams had no issue doing the update in one shot. I've had these cams for 6yrs and finally updated them haha. Thanks so much Alastair!

Mine started back up a couple days ago, was working this morning however as of this afternoon it stopped again. edit: It's working again. Strange.

Agreed. The HD app still works but the app is junk compared to the non HD version. FWIW, the non HD app stopped working for me before I got Android 6 so in my experience it is the app and camera sw/fw not your Android version.

I don't have a solution but I had the same issue. I am now using 24/7 continuous record with motion still active and have no issues.

As suggested already, my solution is to have email alerts. This gives me continuous recording and notifications when motion occurs. Obviously for this to be effective you need to spend some time to setup your motion settings in order to avoid false triggers flooding your inbox.

This was short lived. :( It worked briefly then became inconsistent. The app works sometimes and other times it just loads the streams forever. I even uninstalled and reinstalled with the same results....Maybe Android 6 will be better otherwise I will be changing apps. Bummer.

This is what I have as well with the lights set on a timer dusk till dawn. OP, I would rethink the 2.8mm lens idea if your driveway is more than one car length long. You really don't get much in way of distance clarity with the 2.8mm lens. A 4mm would be better suited likely.

Max, The best firmware to use would be the latest version available. Right now I believe it is 5.2.5 for the 2xxx series cameras. It will have the most features as well as the latest bug and security fixes. As for server, that all depends where you are located and whether or not you have CBX's...

I find this happens if you set the motion detection in the camera and then afterwards browse around in the motion settings within the NVR. For me it would change itself from expert mode to normal mode. I use intrusion detection now and have no issues.

It is probably a bandwidth issue. Have you tried multiple networks? Playback using my home WiFi or LTE works flawless on my phone. If I try it using the WiFi at work it is usually laggy unless it is early in the morning. This is on a Nexus 5 and 3MP streams.

Hikvision has quick start guides. I recommend you check those out. They will walk you through using SADP to change the camera and NVR IP addresses to match your network. From their it is all plug and play using your browser.

So you think it is the Chinese-English 5.2.0 firmware? My cam has a sticker for 5.2.3 but only has 5.2.0 installed. Has anybody successfully updating the firmware with CBX's region changer? Does the audio work after that?

I will try that. I am leaning more to a camera issue. This cam also has a faulty mic. If there is motion in the frame but outside of the intrusion detection zone it plays back without any issues.

I am not convinced it is the network since it only happens when the intrusion detection is tripped. The cam is continually recording so it shouldn't be from initiating the recording either. It could be the iFrame but the other cams don't experience this with the same settings. I believe they are...
