If you're going to reuse old HDDs, it'd be wise to use them in this redundancy mode (RAID1). Hopefully, the NVR can alert you somehow that one of the HDDs had failed, otherwise, you won't be able to tell until the other drive fails and you'll still have data loss on your hands.

Yes, that's what worked for me too. Internet Explorer did try to download the needed plug-in but I declined it for now. I think (hoping) that once I get BI up and running, this won't really be an issue anymore.

I don't know what SmartPSS is (I'm super new to security cams). I'll check it out tomorrow, but any test will have to wait until tomorrow (too sleepy now!). :-/
