Sorry I couldn't help more; I'm a novice user. I DID enable motion detect on BOTH camera software and NVR. I am able to "draw" the motion detection area on the NVR and receive alerts.

I used the Hikvision NVR to setup motion detection.

I covered the LED directly. May remove some of it this evening

YIKES! WTF is going on here? I masked all but two LED on each side of light sensor (total of 4 LED). Looked OK earlier, but now:

I can't find any options on cam or nvr to rotate image. If viewing on my phone, I can turn my phone upside down and it looks as it should without triggering vert/landscape change. Not really pleased with these particular cameras (a400), but I'm stuck for at least a few months with them...

You didn't get that from the label! Have you tried it? Good stuuff!

Having issues with settings for DDNS and tunnelblick on macbook. Can't get tunnelblick to accept openVPN client configuration file. Nothing works to import it. I'm working the next few days, so will not be able to hit it until Wednesday evening. Android phone works fine!

My first full day with surveillance system. I was/am up late tweaking the image settings and trying to setup VPN when this truck pulls up. No one has left the vehicle since arrival.

Having issues viewing main stream from this camera (set at 10k bps) on my laptop, but IVMS on phone is fine. The substream is fine. Any ideas? The main stream photo caps come out great, but streaming is a bunch of visual artifact. Looks fine on NVR.
