The background is now bright enough for me. But the face capture could still use some more tweaking I think. I know it's better than 95% of people have it and who mostly use reolink, ring etc. but I'm a perfectionist and if there is room for improvement, I'm all ears :)

I'm thinking about getting another 5442 from Andy to capture license plates and / or to get a clear shot at a suspect's face (even before he steps foot on my property). Is this doable (day AND night) or do I have to choose between one and the other (right now I can't afford two more cameras)...

I understand. I wanted to buy either dahua or reolink NVR but from what I've heard they don't work with reolink (or dahua) cameras. The main thing I would want from NVR is storage though. Would this also present problems? What about just saving recordings to my pc (or an external hard drive...

Hi. I have a question regarding Andy's 5442 and pfb203w wall bracket I picked up from amazon. Can the camera be turned and screwed in the direction as shown in the pictures? Can only one screw (where the red arrow points) hold the whole camera in place? I apologize for the stupid question...

How do you ground a surge protector if it's indoors? Can I do it by myself or do I have to call an electrician?

From what I have read on the internet it seems like a lot of people don't have any surge protection at all. Is it really necessary then? They also say that if the lightning hits (even in the vicinity of the house) it will fry everything anyway (even the surge protectors) I was thinking about...

I only need about 60 feet of cable (and only 10 feet will be underground). From the quick search on google it seems like all you can get your hands on are long ones like 500 or 1000 feet :confused:

What do you guys think about vandal proof (IK10) cameras? Aren't you worried that a criminal (who may even wear a mask so you dont get a clear shot of him) will just kick or punch your camera when he sees it? I mean even if you (or cops) detain him and charge him, you are still out of what, 200$
