I don’t need the config file from the nvr that had the hard drives in it. I just need to take those two hds and put them in the current nvr I’m using.

Not sure I followed that. Do I need to export the config files if they aren’t on the hard drives?

Thanks mat200. Yes, it is extremely frustrating. To think that I may need to pull new cables in the future if I upgrade all the cameras is bothersome.

Thanks for the additional info. We reterminated the old cable a few times. We also tried adding a poe switch in between and then added new camera on old line. No go. We also did consider interference (but didn’t power anything down) since the cable to the driveway camera does run above the fuse...

I can't seem to find the device he used online but I believe it was more than a simple continuity tester. It seems to have a bunch of readouts and he made it out to be an expensive piece of equipment. The only other thing in between the cams and the nvr is a patch panel. Sounds like the issue...

Thanks for the reply. So the same cable run could work for one camera but not the next? We also tried a second 2335 on a different run by the front door (first one was at the driveway) and had the same issue. Right now the original cams are all back in place and everything working as it did...

I purchased two new ds2335 cams and am trying to swap them out with two existing ds2332 cams. The new 2335 cams work on ports 7 or 8 on back of my 7608 nvr. They work fine connected there with a small cable (5e) directly in the back of the nvr. Also, the new 2335s work when I connect them...

The Fdx (full duplex) light is not on on the switch. Does this mean anything or is the NIC on the nvr not working properly? Should I change any settings because of this?

It's a wired connection from my pc to a central switch. NVR firmware is 3.4.62 build 160503. Cams are all on 5.3.0 build 150814.

Just an update. The cams have been working for two days now with these settings: 15 fps, 7000 max bitrate, Variable and medium quality. Cams 1, 3 and 4 are at 2048x1536 and cams 2, 5 and 6 are at 1920x1080. I'm dreading what I'd have to reduce the quality to when I add another cam. Thanks

Brought cam in garage and cam 5 is working but no live view on cams 1,2 and 6. Changed quality to medium (still at 20 fps) on all cams and they all populate. Cam 5 at 1080p and all others on the setting above that.

Via the NVR interface I dropped all cams down to 1920x1080 (which I do not like the view on). Came back to PC and all but cam5 populated quickly on live view. I dropped cam 5 to "medium" and it populates on live view. All cams are on "higher" and 20 fps but cam 5 on medium. I'm going to pull...

By the way, in this firmware I'm using, there's no option to change the resolution. In the drop down it just says "[object Object]" a few times. Is the sub stream using bandwidth? I thought I had the sub stream shut off completely but guess I don't.

I have verizon fios and pay for 150/150.

I upgraded to firmware 3.4.62. Current one I found. All main stream views on the monitor attached to the NVR and all seconds are ticking. NVR attaches to a netgear prosafe switch where everything else in the house is connected to. I'll have to take one of the cams down and see how it looks...

All h.264 with no option to change it. I can't see why it would be a bandwidth issue. I have no problems streaming or anything else that I can see.

Sorry, they all work in substream without issue. The screens start playing live video within seconds.

That doesn't seem to do anything. Currently only able to view four of the six cams right now. Cams 1 and 5 are not viewable in live view. I really don't know what the deal is.

Yes, positive about upload speed. Pardon the dumb question, but isn't that for outside the network? I switched a few cables around (left port 7 and 8 empty as it was). I also upgraded to the firmware mentioned above. Seems to be a nicer UI but lost the ability to change the cam resolution...

Not trying to shoot you down, but I just built this computer a few weeks ago with so higher end equipment. I really hope it's not the cpu. edit: over 7000 didn;t work and 12fps and 4360 didn't work either on cam5. Right now I have four out of six showing video on this pc. cams 3 and 5 still...
