This update put both of my cams in a reboot loop. Went back to 7.1.3.3 and it's "all good" again.

I am replying to the people who already own this camera. In no way am I recommending it.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Dredging up this old thread. Both of my cameras have been working flawlessly since the FW update in February. The POE modules on the cams have also survived a good 2 weeks of 100+ temps. I hope everyone else has had similar outcomes.

Yup. It's one thing to have a faulty model or models.. Another thing entirely not to properly support them.

One week with zero issues. I recommend anyone with problems to install this firmware.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

It's still too early to tell if the new fw fixed the more glaring issues but it seems it did fix the osd date/time disappearing after ~30min.

You're right.. I just checked the 'don't crash and burn' box.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I applied it to both of mine. FYI there's a new web plugin with it. I haven't had much time to mess around with it but at first glance options and GUI look the same.

Hopefully it's because they found (the) critical issue(s) and took it down. Maybe a fix is incoming. ...I know, wishful thinking.

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

In this case (for a relative) the chance is very real. You would still go for the turret?

    Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)

Thanks for the quick reply. I understand there could be some drawbacks but there is a possibility of vandalism due to mounting height. I would be open to alternative suggestions.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Has anyone with the stream loss issue tried the reset button inside the unit? I would try myself but the cameras are two stories up and would rather hear from someone with easier access.

Gotcha. I tried it with one that went down and got nothing on any port. Could only ping it.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I've tried this on both of mine and on every port (except default telnet) I get an endless loop of: [Trace]: eth0 LINK up No arp reply received for this address This is when they are both up and functioning "normally"

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

Both my cameras are now losing the video stream(s) but one more than the other. Really thinking this firmware has issues because they didn't do this before. Need to try and telnet in to look at the logs.

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

This happened to me with one of mine. I had one on 6.x (that was posted earlier in this thread) and the other on 5.x. The one that was on 5.x was affected like yours. The 6.x version upgraded with no issue - although the interface did not get updated as it was still the same look and version...

5 MegaGixel 1/1.8" low light destroyer for $90-AVOID LONGSE JUNK

I received my cameras last week. Initial impressions are great. These aren't getting installed for another month, though. Earlier in the thread I read that many (all?) of you were not able to get the "Record" and "Capture" features of the WebUI working. These features do in fact work - you...
