    when i enable DHCP, the camera wants to reboot, but changes the ip address and locks up is this what you mean by 'reserve the dhcp address'

    router is set up with a separate port for each camera cam 1 is 8150 cam 2 is 8151 cam 3 is 8152 cam 4 is 8153 tried connecting phone app with external ip:port and got connection failed message like you, works great within network
