THanks will order a tester.
I tried different PoE ports and the camera worked fine with a test lead before fitting.
I suspect i have squashed the cable.
OK wired it all up earlier.
One cam works all ok and the other doesnt. I re terminated the connections at either end three times each and still nothing.
THe IR LEDs ligh up though? Any ideas? Damaged cable?
Received my NVR and two 5213 cams today although i purchased a 4108 and it says that one the bottom of the NVR, it only has 4 PoE ports?
I thought the 4108 had 8?
Ordered from DragonEye on Aliexpress mid April, then find out they are not in stock and they have added a fake tracking number to my account to keep the order.
Thinking about cancelling, due to their dodgy selling tactics.
Has anyone ordered from DragonEye Security on Aliexpress?
Im going to order the following as Andy at Empire doesnt currently have any stock and i have a Aliexpress voucher expiring in a day or two.
Are these decent quality?
Looking to order the following items.
Cat 6 Solid PE External Cable Black 30m Reel 100% Copper Networking Ethernet LAN | eBay
10 Pack Cat6 RJ45 Connector Plug Crimp Ends 8p8c 3u-50u Two Piece Easy Fit | eBay

Would i be able to use the Amazon Fire 7" tablet as a cheap home monitor to display the live camera feeds from my two Dahua 5231 cameras?
I am thinking about mounting it somewhere in the house permanently charging either via usb or mains adaptor.
Or are there any better ideas out there...
Is there enough space behind the 5231's standard wall mount to hide the join from the cat6 connection to the camera loom?
Or would i require the optional Dahua mounting bracket to hide that?
(The cameras are going on a brick wall with external cat cable)
I am looking to buy all of the following as a bundle.
What sellers would you recomend?
2x Dahua Starlight Varifocal Turret (IPC-HDW5231R-Z)
2x Wall mounts
1x Dahua NVR (For four cameras)
Hi,
I am looking to buy Two IP cams and a NVR. I am a UK member, so i am looking to spend around £400.
I have been reading a bit on the forum and it looks like the Dahua Starlights are some of the best for the price? Im not too sure which one to go for, the fixed or Varifocal? Are the 2mp ones...
