GOOGLE CHROME - For some reason when I browse the ui2.htm with Chrome, I only get the cameras....no banner up top, or the clips list on the left side. Is there something I accidentally turned off in Chrome to see these? Firefox/IE work fine. I reset chrome completely, even reinstalled the app...

Man what a difference a stand alone machine makes. Got my Optiplex 9020 today, got two more cameras installed, and BI w/tools installed and rocking. CPU running 8 cameras is around 10%, add one web connection 12%, then add phone app on top of that and it goes to a whopping 14%. Thanks for all...

Just wanted to see out of the box what the default CPU usage should be for BI Tools. Only changes I have made are syncing with my weather station and created four macros for the OSD. I am running around 30% CPU utilization just for this app...seems excessive, but please let me know if that is...

Awesome I think that did it. My iframe interval was already set to match the FPS. I did however increase the buffer to 20mb and that seemed to fix the issue. Default for all cameras or BI was 3mb. Should I increase all cameras to 20mb? What affect does that have on performance, etc.

Out of nowhere my CPU usage is now hovering around 30% which is not bad. I even added a camera and now have 6 running. No idea how it dropped, but I know the direct to disk helped, and moving it to local storage instead of an external HD. One issue I am still seeing out of one of my 4MP...

That is the exact same version and build that I am running. I find it hard to believe that this camera is worse than my ~$150 foscams, and I was about to order 3-4 more. I'm hoping with some tweaks and a standalone BI box that this setup will be much better than my previous one.

OK so time to poll everyone about what kind of machine to get for a dedicated BI box. Definitely don't want to break the bank, but don't want a piece of junk either. Can anyone chime in on what a good option out there is? Thanks!

Man, I had to turn Noise Reduction back on and set to 50....at night time it looks crazy grainy and just plain awful.

Yes all cameras are set to write directly to disk. (currently 5 cameras)

Actually I was D2D on an internal SAS drive, not a external USB. My SSD drive is for my C: partition and the D: is the SAS. This is a newly built system. I just wiped the entire thing clean and started over. I am running Windows 10 fully patched.

direct I might have figured out my pixelating issue on recordings. In an effort to curb the CPU spike I started writing to disk, which is an attached USB 3 external HD. Once I turned off D2D the recordings cleared up.

Back to my original question though....should the cpu spike 30-40% when just maximizing the BI app on the desktop as opposed to having it minimized?

I assume you mean on the HikVision camera itself and not inside BI. But yes I have it completely set to OFF instead of NORMAL or just dropping it down to 0. Turned it back on to normal and off again...still ghosting. I'm sorry, I was not describing my issue correctly. It is not ghosting, but...

Yeah I already turned off the Noise reduction hoping that would fix it, but it's still an issue. I know I need to get a machine strictly for BI...that opens a whole new can of worms.

This is my main desktop/gaming machine so I won't be pulling out that card. :-) These new HikVision cameras are screwing everything up! They are much better than the Foscam's I have been running. I probably need to tweak the cameras more. I am getting ghosting on them now when the foscams...

I completely misunderstood the Intel piece earlier. You are saying that the hardware acceleration will only work with an embedded Intel video chip? I am running an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970. My mobo technically does have onboard Intel video which I am not using, and it is an HD3000.

It looks like it was not enabled. After enabling, the process jumps to 50% utilization while minimized, and ~75% when maximizing. So hardware acceleration seems to have made it worse?

Is it normal for Blue Iris.exe to sit around 35% processor usage while minimized, and then if you maximize/bring app forward it jumps up to ~65% processor usage? I find it weird that it jumps 30% when just bringing it to the forefront. I am using D2D, and this happens when the cameras aren't...
