It's most likely Gmail. I've been using my Yahoo account since Gmail stopped working and it's been sending notification emails like normal.

Did you have a lot of notifications that day? It's possible Google blacklisted your IP. They do this to weed out spammers sending emails in mass. I had to switch to my yahoo account to get my notifications to come through.

Try turning off two-factor authentication and see if it allows you to create an app password.

You have to create an app password since you enabled less secure apps. Go to your Google Account, click on Privacy then choose App Passwords.

@CaliGirl Your password doesn't look long enough. Did you enable less secure apps and create a special pass code/password specifically for the app? The pass code for gmail and yahoo are both 16 characters long.

Definitely a gmail issue. I setup SMTP using my yahoo email account and it started working again instantly.

I'm in the same boat, everything has been working perfectly for almost 2 years, then in the past couple weeks most of the snapshot emails aren't making it through anymore. Obviously a gmail issue. Haven't had time to research if there's anything I can do about it.

None of my ports are forwarded either. I had the NVR's ip address blocked from connecting to the internet along with the individual ip addresses of my cameras, but unblocked just the NVR. If it's possible to get the notifications with it blocked, that would be my preference as well. Sent from...

Got gDmss working! Upgraded to the new NVR firmware and opened the IP address for the NVR in my router to allow it to connect to the internet. All is well!

I followed @cosmo's instructions here, but I'm still having an issue getting it to work with gmail. I have access to less secure apps turned on and do not have two-step authentication turned on. Here are my settings, did I miss something?

That's definitely possible that they've blocked it in some way and yes, it would seem that everyone's notifications would stop working if it were an app issue. I don't see any reviews in the app store that elude to the notifications not working, which you think would cause someone to complain...

Ok, that's good to know that it worked on the unofficial firmware prior to the app update. Definitely appears to be an app issue at this point.

Yes, the NVR comes with a static 192.168.1.108 as well. Get that up and running first, change the IP, then bring the cameras on one by one.

The gdmss app released an update yesterday and it didn't fix my Failed to Subscribe issue. Wondering if it has more to do with the unofficial NVR firmware I'm running than the app itself.

It's louder than the non POE version for sure, however, there's a write up on here where the guy replaced the fan with a quieter version he bought off Amazon.

Have you changed the IP address of each camera. By default, I believe they're all 192.168.1.108, trying to connect to multiple devices on the same IP address won't work. If you have changed the IP addresses, have you tried connecting directly to the camera through the IP address using Internet...

Yes, I created an online account, it's simply putting in your email address and creating a password. I don't recall having to allow it through my firewall.

I exported the .dav file and converted it to .avi with the ConvertTool program within the Dahua Toolboxsoftware. The .avi file plays with Windows Media Player Classic no problem.
