    Blue Iris is the greatest!

I just thought I'd take a moment to comment on how my experience with blue iris has been. I've had it working for about a year now and I must say it has been flawless. It has helped prosecute 2 sets of people writing bad checks and has helped when customers have claimed we caused damage to their...

Strange ip's showing up in Blue Iris app

If you are going to leave port forwarding on I suggest changing the default port to something much higher. Try in the 63000 range. Or more. You will see you connections drop to almost none. Vpn is the best way but fenderman is right. Get newest version, have very strong passwords. Change port...

Dropping off Remote access on mobile device

The reason no one has replied is that you questions are at best vague and really aren't questions any one can answer. It's like saying "my computer is broke, can someone tell me what's wrong" Start over and be a bit more descriptive as to what the problem is. Are you using a remote access...

    How to setup Auto-Patrol?....

The programming must be setup in each cameras web interface not setup in blue iris. When u program each camera to its preset it will basically carry over to BI.

Check your BI logs for logins from unknown IPs

I will post the log tomorrow before noon The server is at work and I'm laying on my couch. Lol. I'm interested too because I haven't looked at the text logs before but I know I checked the log to file checkbox a month or two ago.

    Camera loses connection intermittently

5g is way better than 2.4 in crowded areas. Best thing to do is get a dual band router though just in case u have any older devices that will only run on 2.4. The key to these dual band routers is to get one that runs simultaneously 2.4 and 5. Not just one or the other. Make sure ur cams will...

Support For Wipers On PTZ cameras

I have one of those cams that have the wiper and the only time I used it, it smeared a bug or something across the lens and there I was with a 40 ft ladder wiping it down with a cloth the next day. Its the last time I ever used it. Lol. that's just how unlucky I am though.

    Camera loses connection intermittently

Wi-Fi is easily interrupted by other devices. Especially if ur in a complex. Someone's cordless phone could interfere, etc. I had some wireless cams for a year or so and it was a constant issue. I tried changing frequencies and limiting frame rates and it was still problematic. Wireless is great...

Check your BI logs for logins from unknown IPs

I'm still on port 81 which I need to change to something different. The only reason I haven't is because it's bookmarked in 8 other people's computers at work. I will have to go around and change em all. I guess its time. I hear the attempts go way down if you pick a high port.

    Camera loses connection intermittently

Lol, He is saying Wi-Fi is the problem. The solution is to start running wires.

Check your BI logs for logins from unknown IPs

It doesn't ever show credentials it just shows login from server with an IP.see attached from app log. It almost always has a different IP. this one is from freaking turkey so I know it's not benign. There is absolutely no way for anyone or program to figure out my passwords. They are all bigger...

what is going on with BI and my firewall log? why all this connections?

Disable ipv6 on the modem. If it's a smc it should have that setting. Mine did but I also heard recently that Comcast is running out of ipv4 and only give them out upon request.

Check your BI logs for logins from unknown IPs

I see server logins from the ui2 log with different ips but I never really knew why. Why would I be seeing this? It's not any IP that should be logging in. Thanks in advance.

    3rd Party Camera

Yep u need the rtsp address for each camera. They are all different. You also need the cameras ip range to be the same as your Dvr ip to make it work.

    IPv6 only WAN configuration

Jeez I didn't know hughesnet was still around, exceptfor credit card transactions. I used to install it as a contractor for a few years. The speeds back then we're terrible but it sure beat 56k which is the only other option people had in rural areas. I figured by now everyone should have access...

How to extend recording time after a Trigger?

Scroll down about 8 threads and u will have ur answer. Unchecked get events in Cam settings on BI. Ur Cam doesn't support it.

Could there be virus in cheap Chinese IP cams?

Block cameras from using the wan then you won't have any issues. Only allow BI to access the wan. I had issues and this fixed my issues completely.

    Can't get GW4555MIP to work w/ BI (I/O Error:0)

In the camera settings on the cameras web interface change it to h. 264 and then, ur going to love this. Put the camera back to its original password admin. Gw has a convenient bug that won't let u change the password and use the rtsp. I bought one of those he cameras to try and it was a...

    BI server initiated intrusion attempt?!

It seems odd but who knows. I don't think I would worry too much. it was blocked so that's a good thing.

High CPU usage with only 28 Cameras

Seems high, is this a dedicated machine? Are u using the on board video or an add on video card
  26. J

    BI server initiated intrusion attempt?!

A stretch but have you blocked your cameras from accessing the internet completely. If not u should. Only allow the BI server the access to the wan. That is the safest bet.

Can Blue Iris REALLY handle this job?

Yes 30 frames is ridiculous. 15 is plenty unless ur pointing your cams down the highway and need to see everything. Blue iris can easily handle it tho. But ur gonna have to have a mean machine to run it.

    Xeon CPU's with QuickSync?

My xeon doesn't support it. I think mine is a 1231. Not at home to look. I have 41 cameras running 7-10 FPS at 2.1 MP. My CPU runs around 50% so it's not always needed but anything to lower the CPU strain is best. Stick with an i5 or an i7

    Nestcam Low FPS

What do u mean without using Wi-Fi? Wi-Fi is most likely the problem. It just NEVER seems to be stable.
