SOLVED: System suddenly running at 100% CPU

Short version: I had the same problem with 100%. Various cameras would stop allowing hardware acceleration. I would change it and it would not save. I also attempted to set up substreams, and the whole system would bog to being unusable. I may not have needed to have gone this far, but my...

More Tuning Questions - Easy Stuff Tried Already...

I have a Dell PowerEdge T30 (Intel Xeon E3-1255 3.3Ghz Processor) system with 8 gigs of RAM and a 2 TB WD HD. It is running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. Direct to disk on all cameras, 10 FPS h.264 for all but 1 15 fps LPR cam. Cams are all Dahua except for a few Hikvision. Blueiris file folders and...

    New Configuration

I have the most current BI4, and had some issues doing an upgrade. Briefly, I replaced a bunch of older cameras (10?) with new Dahua cams. This involved removing the old cams from service a few at a time, replacing them, and adding the new cams to BI. We had all sorts of issues with system...

    CPU Usage Issues

I had already done that some time ago. Taking the paid AVG off of there entirely made a dramatic change for the better. The only software I run on there is BI with a Firefox browser for updates, etc. No email client, etc, and I am the only one who can log into it, good backups, etc., so I feel...

    CPU Usage Issues

Makes sense. I just took AVG off the server and went from 70s to occasional high 90s to 50s....

    CPU Usage Issues

I wouldn't figure that the sub-streams affect BI's performance, as BI is not using them for anything. Am I wrong about this?

    Router opinion needed...

Some router talk: Just to put a bug in your ear - I am a big fan of Tomato Shibby (Tomato by Shibby » Alternatywne oprogramowamie na routery) firmware for routers as opposed to manufacturer firmware. It has been bulletproof for me over the last 5 years or so. I am using a Netgear R7000 router...

New computer needed for Blue Iris

Tuned it today per this. Direct to disk writing. I have an Intel GPU but BI says I can't use hardware acceleration with some of the cheap No-Name-O cameras I have on the system. More cams coming next week....

New computer needed for Blue Iris

Thank you for sharing this. I will have to get to work, but it does not look too bad at all! Blue Iris has already done all the work!

New computer needed for Blue Iris

Thank you for the info. I sure have not gotten that far with it yet. I have another round of camera installs coming soon, and it looks like I ought to figure that part of it out when I get deep into it again!

New computer needed for Blue Iris

Before I forget, THANK YOU for posting the discount code! I was looking to upgrade an old Blue Iris 3 system that I had not touched in a while and that hit the spot! Blue Iris 4 and that machine are just what I needed. I went from 100% CPU and occasional crazy behavior to running 5 720P cams...
