I have BI. Can't get an IP and no lights. Tried all of the above, except hard reset as I have no power.

Nothing seems to be out of ordinary at the first glance, powered by POE and the cable looks clean. Should I try external power? If so, what kind of adapter would I need?

My main box has SSD as OS drive, I don't see a point of making it a primary here. Would you install BI on it and just use the surveillance drive for storage or install BI on the surveillance drive and keep just the OS on the primary?

The more I read, the more confusing it gets. From what i understand, both of these are fine to use up to gigabit connection speeds, but cat6 is less "crosstalk". Based on that, how will you select one? Will regular residential installation of 5 cams benefit from cat6 or should I stick with cat5e?
