Update, I used the IPCamTalk Blue Iris link, and that update worked. The one from the Blue Iris website did not. Go figure.

Hello, New to Amcrest model line. Does Amcrest make a camera/software combo that will allow recording to a PC, send out text alerts, and then access the motion triggered alert via a mobile app while away? Does this require a monthly cloud service? I'm looking at the IP2M-841or the ASH21.

I know it sounds counter intutitive, but I had issues too. The fix is to perform a hardware reset. Hold down the reset button for 30 seconds.

In my experience, there did seem to be a difference. The physical reset made the camera stable following a firmware upgrade. A real shame that this seemed to be needed.

Update: I reset the camera and that has fixed the eventManager API. I guess that is a requirement whenever doing so.

@slamb Thanks for working on this. Check out the work that psyciknz has done with Dahua too. I've have created my own Dahau monitoring tool and a recent firmware update seems to have broken the eventManager API. I'm trying to find a solution.

The Dahua SD1A203T has a new firmware update from yesterday. Now calls to eventManager.cgi?action=attach&codes[yadda, yadda] come back with 400 bad request now. Can anyone confirm?

If you don't need realtime, you could do 1fps with Dahua HTTP API and a snapshot call.

The reason the image looks like is because you've inadvertently maximized it. I think you double click the center of the image to resize it back, or maybe press escape. Don't remember.

Not to be argumentative, but I work with VLAN, networks, and such. Let's don't confuse the OP further. There is no fear to link all the buildings together creating one fiber connected network. Storms are easily dealt with, of course he'll use VLAN, he'll have IP cameras running on his network...
