hire someone to help me configure BI

Hello, I hope this post is in compliance, with me asking to see if there is someone I could pay to help me configure a new BI machine. If not sorry, and OK to delete post. I have been running BI for about 5 years now. My BI configuration has gone thru v4 to v5 upgrades, computer transfers, and...

Blue iris iOS app used 95gb of data last month, it cost $1500 - was not running in background

Right around this same time I guess this data started getting sucked up, I added a remote BI server with 2 cameras. I can't imagine this would be the trigger on this unless it's a serious bug. It's paired within the BI App, but shouldnt have anything to do with my phone.

Blue iris iOS app used 95gb of data last month, it cost $1500 - was not running in background

Per the connection status, my phone is connected and appears to be continually connected. I swiped up to see what apps are open, and BI is indeed closed. Push notifications are coming in as they should. This is starting to make sense why I thought my brand new iphone battery life sucked...

Blue iris iOS app used 95gb of data last month, it cost $1500 - was not running in background

Sure enough, I just reset my cellular data, cut wifi off, and within 5 minutes or so BI had 17mb of data used. The amount of data would go up after each push notification received. I do have GIF enabled, or maybe it's called "rich" in the settings to where there are a few frames of the trigger...

Blue iris iOS app used 95gb of data last month, it cost $1500 - was not running in background

I have reset the app usage under cellular in iOS settings to keep track and see if it's still doing this.

Blue iris iOS app used 95gb of data last month, it cost $1500 - was not running in background

I'm pretty upset at the moment. It appears blue iris consumed 95gb of data @ $15/gb from verizon on my iPhone last month over cellular. No I did not leave the app running in the background consistently. Why did this app do this? It is a new iphone 13, that I restored a backup transfer from my...

Multiple IP cams over WAN without VPN by changing ports

Hi, I have 2 cams, but soon to be more, going across a WAN to where my BI server is. I've used UPNP to open the ports. The cam I have had for a while work with no problems. since all the ports it used were "normal". I am trying to add a second camera now. I have changed the ports on the new...

    BI v5 Video smear issues

Ever since I upgraded to v5, it looks like a lot of my cameras are showing like a dragged line of movement. still images are fine, but people walking or cars moving are smeared. It's almost like it's an I Frame setting but it didnt do it before, nor does it appear on the NVR. I also tried...

Portable security camera rig to remote NVR/BI

And thinking about NGROK, i'm worried it would route all web traffic thru the tunnel. I will have more than just cameras on the other side of this connection, such as computers, and youtube live streaming devices. So sounds like maybe the best way to go is himachi and it should know what traffic...

Portable security camera rig to remote NVR/BI

Thanks are either of this possible to implement without a computer on the remote end? would you suggest one over the other? I'm thinking if I used himachi on a PC with Dual LAN, 1 for the internet side and 1 for my LAN side, I feel like it wouldn't route that traffic thru himachi.

Portable security camera rig to remote NVR/BI

Hi, I have a unique need as a production company where I would like to put together a portable security camera kit. I would take these to different venues where they will provide me with an internet thru their router so it will be double NAT. The issue is getting it thru their firewall? The...

Dahua NVR w/ built in POE to Blueiris

Oh wow makes perfect sense. Thanks for this. All these cameras are fixed, but say if it was a PTZ, would using the NVR Onvif pass PTZ controls? The only perk to the 2 NIC solution is reduced traffic on the local network side, but for 8 cameras that's probably not something to worry about...

Dahua NVR w/ built in POE to Blueiris

Thanks. I figured that was an option but would prefer to use the built in POE ports since they're already paid for and will result in one less device. I did quite a bit of searching and none of them really clarified a long term solution for connection on you local network for the purpose of BI...

Dahua NVR w/ built in POE to Blueiris

Hi, Summarized questions: How can I get the cameras connected to my Dahua NVR POE ports to be reachable by blue iris? I am pretty certain the NVR model is NVR5216-16P-4KS2E I have a 16 channel NVR, with 8 POE/8 non-POE ports on it. I have all (8 cameras) going into the POE ports, and then...

SD22404T Camera's PTZ not working with BI

Hi, I have a SD22404T camera and i can control it fine from my NVR but not BI. I did the find/inspect which works but I can't get PTZ control to work. I tried checking the ports to match under the PTZ tab for the the camera, which they do. The port is 80 for HTTP. I tried Dahua and ONVIF for...

Installing up to 16 IP cameras across 30 acres

Oh also how much traffic will that many cameras consume? The fiber will all terminate to a switch with gigabit connections. I assume it takes more of a toll on the router than anything? On the network I imagine there will be 16 cameras, 12 access points. At times there may be up to 250 users on...

Installing up to 16 IP cameras across 30 acres

Thanks for the quick answers. Hadn't heard of blue iris till now. I like the looks of it, although it makes me nervous with it being PC based and requires maintenance like if power goes out, windows decides to do a system update, etc. What is your opinion on this? Other than this, I am all about...

Installing up to 16 IP cameras across 30 acres

Hi, I am installing about 16 IP cameras across a youth camp. We are getting fiber runs to all the areas where cameras will be. I am completely clueless on an infrastructure with this amount of cameras. Can I get some advice on what to look at? Here are some of the needs I would like to have...
